First Ride on Our R1M with Akra Full Titanium Exhaust!!!

Unfortunately the sound didn't come across as well as I'd hoped so I might take out my newer gopro with the wired mic that captures the sound better in the future. @@JaretCampisi right, so keep the setup you have to record yours and Dado’s audio. Just add in an external mic for exhaust sounds. You can get a fanny pack (like a good old tourist) make sure the Fanny pack is position behind you and throw your zoom mic in it. Make sure the mic is facing the exhaust side. Reason you want the mic behind you is so you don’t get the wind sound. Gain between 3-5 should be ok! But you will need to test it out with your exhaust levels. Now this mic doesn’t need to be connected to your go pro. Not so hardest part is to sync up the audio from zoom with your go pro footage. So before you start ride. Turn on recording on your go pro and on your external zoom mic and clap three time 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼. Make sure you record this in your camera too. Now if you go to your editing software, import your GoPro footage and the audio file from zoom, you’ll see three peaks in the zoom audio file and go pro audio created by your clap. You just need to line up the peaks from clap from both audio (GoPro and zoom) in your software. That’s it. This way you can drop the motorcycle sound or up the levels of your motorcycle sound as you need. So when you aren’t talking, boost that shit and let the engine go brrrrrrrr, if you wanna talk with dado and engine sounds too loud, drop the levels on the zoom audio. .Bout the mic situation. I would do the recording to the exhaust separately. Like duck tape an old phone to the exhaust to get the sound effect.

For our car videos we use a GoPro next to the exhaust then merge the audio with video. Not all the time, just when not talking. This way the exhaust is getting picked up out back. I put a GoPro in the engine compartment of my Redeye Widebody just so I could get the supercharge whine audio then merged that audio with the video. Was so awesome. Also you can do a wired or non-wire microphone with a GoPro and locate it under the seat.

Another thing to try if you remember when ur next out on it. To get it to do a big BANG try this as it works on mine. Say ur in 3rd gear 30mph so ur plodding along, just fully WACK open that throttle and then instantly quick shift up! BANG the full throttle will make it bog at low RPM but mine makes a MASSIVE BANG P.S. wish i could hear it in person I'm sure the camera doesn't do it justice and when u edit your videos i bet it hurts your soul to listen back.

Honestly when I was younger I would get a lot more aggressive on the street but there is literally no reason for it then or now. As beautiful as our back roads are there are full of dirt and debris and as you can tell we are often careful especially with the giveaway bikes.

Hey Jaret you should try getting a camera angle on the exhaust or a microphone down by the exhaust for little clips of the sound and flames from the exhaust. You cant really hear how good it sounds from your gopro on your helmet. I bet if you mounted the gopro on the passenger pegs it would sound better on video. You may even capture some cool shots of the flames bursting out hehe. Great vids tho. Cheers!

Nah the reason I mention that because my current set up is a hero 4 that uses a blue tooth audi backpack so I can get the intercom audio (hear Dado's voice on my footage) which is great BUT the sena mic does built in noise cancelling which strangles a lot of the sound than when I use my newer gopro with a wired mic. But with that set up I can't get other riders audio so that's what I was talking about.
