First Ride Review: Drag Specialties 12" Adjustable Shocks ~ Iron 883

Just an hour or so after installing the new shocks on my Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883, I went for a little ride and talked about how they felt. Shocks aren't exactly plug-n-play; they work fine but they need to be broken in. This review is just an initial impression. If you watch carefully, you can see the bike lifting/falling/bouncing as I go over certain bumps and not a single one caused discomfort. That's pretty good for the first ride. A better, more detailed review will come after I've gotten some good miles on them.

Great video I got 2016 iron I got the progressive Chrome 13 inch Super Duty two click sag in a 5 setting it's on 3 I'm riding two I'm over 250lbs stock was 11 back breaking spine crushing now 2 inch higher more ground clearance able to lean and taking corners no more peg scrapping with a badlander two up seat 🏍️💪🙌👌🤟😎💯

I saw you have a street bob with progressive shocks now, how do they compare to each other?

They ride about the same. The Dyna is 150 lbs heavier and still feels good. I read on some technical site that Progressive makes the Drag Specialties adjustable shocks, so that makes sense given they're at the same price point. I would've gone with the DS shocks for the Dyna but I knew more about what I was doing - the adjustable shocks were in case I needed more height for 2-up, etc.

thanks for this vid! was looking at progressives.. are these more comparable to the progressives 412 or 444? the company recommended me the 444

From what I could find on it at the time, these are basically the 412 series, with the added adjustability. I went with the 412 series on my Dyna Street Bob after this bike and they rode about the same as these. Thanks for watching!

If you read the directions it clearly tells you how to ajust the spring for solo and two up riding.

After break in, how are they?

They were very good after break in. Not top-of-the-line, obviously, but it goes up there with exhaust and handlebars as far as priority upgrades.
