We feel for you. I too am in South Carolina and the Western Counties along the Savannah River got hammered. In all my years, I've never experienced anything like we had in the early hours on that Friday. The deer will adapt I'm sure. Right now, we aren't seeing them like we used to. The woods are a tangled mess and their normal routes and trails have been forever altered. I can't begin to go into some of my tried and true hunting spots. I guess we will all need to adapt to a new Normal. Thanks for sharing this fine rifle in that classic caliber. Good luck this hunting season and God Bless!

Thanks Tom! I'm glad to see you are okay. Sounds like you all had the same damage my nieces had in the Augusta, GA area. One had a tree fall on her house and was without power a few days and the other had two trees fall on her car and her son's car. She was also without power for a few days as well. I just finished my food plots this weekend. The dove field is partially planted in wheat, oats, and winter peas for the deer. I sure hope they enjoy it. Take care and we'll see you on the next one.

Coincidentally Tom I was sighting in a customers featherweight chambered in .270 this morning. I found the bolt to be tight just like yours when single loading from the top. It would chamber flawlessly when fed from the magazine. I was able the get it dialed in with 8 rounds leaving 12 for the customers hunt. Good luck with your featherweight .It was a pleasure to shoot

That might be something to do with the way the cartridge was presented. Like the insertion of a coin into a supermarket trolley. The coin lies flat but it is pushing in a spring. If the front of the coin goes down second it is lying on the edge of that uncompressed spring. A cartridge should be gripped by the extractor. But the magazine feed is built to present the brass to compress the extractor before the bullet is lined up with the barrel. But I migh be utterly silly. You can look for yourself.

He fed from the magazine every time, as far as I can see.

Glad you are ok- Prayers for all. Scopes and saving ammo when sighting in - When you make a large correction in your scope windage or elevation, hold the (unloaded) gun in one hand and bump the butt of the stock with the heal of your other hand - settles the scope internals as if you shot a round

Hey Glad your doing well n finally made the range. Go get em. Ours here in TN Archery right ML end of month then Rifle. Time n circumstances ie life can get us all at times.I myself behind on loading n getting to range to check zero. I thinks you got it ready n likely 300 if needed ie top of back in case. Best of Hunting n When can After Action Report..Tape of Hunt even better😁 I know you no ding bat on this stuff n like me Like M70s. However gonna mention this..From own experience on that era M70s. If not for you for someone else. Those XTR FWT arent free floated, have about a 3 inch pressure point at the front swivel. Ya migth need to do zip n ya might need to bed action as it could be needed .. I would after season if you havent remove from action an see on the action bedding. I would not free float. I would try some handloads 2 to 4 different powders maybe bullet delending what ya can find. Then go from there. Had a Roberts that didnt need zip done drove tacks out of the box.Had another one that got full length bedding n it drives tacks.Have 7x57 action was beded only and it shoots aok. Point again to them that may not know. Easier to try 1st n not have to nothing than is to assume by todays, If not free floated rifle wont shoot. Its also easier to free float if in fact needed than to add pressure ya already removed because some gun writers kf the last 30 yrs claim it needed when it might be.Every Rifle different let them tell ya. GOD Bless YA n Yours n All

Good day to you, I used to have a Swedish mauser m38, 6.5x55 Swedish, tack driver, just a awesome rifle, but mama needed stuff, so, away it went, lately I've been shooting a 44 mag, carbine, seems I always go back to 44 mag, I put a scout scope on, forward of the receiver, just for my old eyes, lol, luv this handy little rifle, but if I could , I'd look for a tika bolt action chambered in 6.5x55, I think that's a great caliber, thanks for the video, stay safe, shakyjake out.

I’m from Louisiana and seems like after a hurricane comes through it disrupts the deer and they are constantly moving so it may work out in your favor! I also have a lease in Arkansas and a few years ago we had a hurricane that made it all the way up there and i had the best season so far in the 20 years I’ve been hunting up there too

controlled round feed. designed to load from the magazine. single load has a harder time with extractor claw jumping case rim rather then case rim sliding under extractor claw when feeding from magazine.

Didn’t he just say that the storm is causing a lot of problems there? Cut Tom a little slack 😳 I for one come here to just listen and if I learn something even better🙌 I have been reloading hunting as well as collecting fine rifles 60+ years and coming from a family that breaths hunting and rifles and my father was even around when John and Bob were getting started on the very early 50’s! And their last name is Nosler you might of heard of them. Move along if your not interested and stop your crying😱

@@edwardabrams4972 Hey good job trying to validate your self and the comment you felt the need to leave when the question for one wasn’t ask of you!! This series with this rifle has been going on long before the storm hit so the question was for Tom not you and I think it was a pretty simple one is he actually unprepared or is he trying to take a new rifle do as little as possible and take it hunting without doing anything to the rifle but just sighting it in because I have herd him say several times he was to see if he can just grab a new rifle and take it hunting with no load work no modifications nothing and I find it hard to believe he is actually going to try and go hunting with a rifle that’s shooting 3 inches and only has 10 rounds for when he has other rifles we all know shoots a lot better than this one is right now!! Maybe you should stick to just listening and trying to learn and stay out of the comment section with your BS throwing names out like you actually know or met any one with the name nosler lol about fell out the chair when I read that lil line bub!! Maybe y’all read the question the wrong way or I should of worded it differently but I mean it’s right there for everyone to see is he actually hurting with this rifle or is he making content trying to do what a beginner would be doing damn I guess I should of expected all the Karen’s to jump right in and throw their two cents in this is the day and age of don’t offend me or step anywhere near my precious feelings or I’ll come back at you with a bunch of horse shit validations and rediclous claims!! And toms a big boy he don’t need a bunch of sissy’s with hurt feelings coming to his rescue he can answer the question or tell me to piss if that’s his right when I direct a question at him but it’s not your right to get all butt hurt and try to defend him because you didn’t like what I said so move on!! Your to old to be getting all fussy like this any way if you been collecting fine ruger 10-22s for 60 + years baaahahahaha lmfao!!!
