Thanks for providing a video of Cousin Scott side-dressing his corn crop. Side-dressing is a very effective technique and hopefully, it will pay off and he will reap the benefits during harvest this fall. That fertilizer ain't cheap this year. Nice drone work, too, my friend.

Charlie my friend always great to find you here in the comments. I have had one extremely frustrating day as a result of this soybean planter not working properly. The beans planted last week are up and I've got Skip's in the fields again like I did last year. Haven't got a clue what's going wrong with this thing. Went over and looked today at the field cousin got planted and sure enough there are skips in that field also. The thing that's really bothering me about this, I know from experience when I can't get a solid canopy of soybeans then I'm going to have to do double duty fighting weeds and I am sick a fighting weeds. Messed around with this planter for the bigger part of today and there is just no reason that I can see for this plantar causing the skips it's causing in the field. Very flustrated at this point I am🤔☹☹☹

Like 113 Deadly fly in at start off video to you filling the seed into spreader. Nice captures off first sprouting too. The fields look so different to last videos I don't know if it's because it's dry. Excellent finish to video with fly out love it well done buddy

The fly in at the beginning of the video would have been a whole lot better if I had not made those minor course Corrections on approach. I'm cheated in the editor by speeding that section up times 9 but you probably already knew that because you know these drones won't fly that fast. Things are going well with the corn but on the other hand I'm having a major difficulty with the planter we use to plant soybeans just can't seem to get it figured out🤔☹☹ My friend thank you very much for dropping by the channel it's always a treat for me to find you here in the comments🙂☕

Always enjoy seeing what one of you two are up to on the small farm. Hope that row was just corn that hadn't popped up yet. Thanks for sharing.

Ron I was back out there looking at it again today and that row still has not popped up there's a couple of rows in that region of the red clay section of that field that have not emerged yet I say yet so as to leave room for the possibility that they're just being slow. @SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
AJ, I know exactly what you mean about trying to get land right enough to get on it so you can plant it without making a huge giant mess. My problem right now is this soybean planter is not working right and I do not know what to do to make it work right. I planted about 4 and a quarter acres then stopped so I could see how the planter was doing and sure enough I've got Skip's in rows. I have spent the larger part of this day messing with this planter trying to see why it's doing what it's doing but not really making any progress. Giving serious consideration to planting the rest of my beans with the grain drill🤔☹☹
@AJmx27020012 жыл бұрын
@@SoybeanFarmer3300 I had a kinze planter that was about 15 years old and started to do odd things with spacing and leaving doubles and more . We went threw the whole drive system and finger units to the tune of 6500$ and used it one more season and still had same issues so we traded it off for a new machine. Totally rebuilt and still could not get any answers.
@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
I do not really want to go back to that grain drill because the turnarounds on that 5-acre field when planted on the diagonal are murder with that grain drill they're rough enough in some points with that planter on the 3 point hitch. I'm looking at the seed I put in the ground back on April 25th and forming my judgments from the progress it has made since then. It's possible I put seed in ground that's really and truly not yet warm enough to facilitate a good uniform germination. So I'm going to continue to hold off and wait a bit even though my only adjustment to that planter would be to reduce the seed depth by about an eighth of an inch. 🤔 I sure am glad I'm not jammed up and feeling like I should be in a hurry🙂
@AJmx27020012 жыл бұрын
@@SoybeanFarmer3300 yeah in that case we had those issues too and with the extra seed we put out later never made a difference and now with treated seed they claim beans will take the cold and wet better

We need corn here on our land in North Carolina to add organic matter back to the soil. as far as making money off of corn here it's not nearly as profitable as it would be in say the state of Illinois or Iowa we are not going to be able to make the kind of yields they have up there. Thanks for being here watching supporting this channel 🙂☕

Looks like the corn will be head high by the 4th of July. That'll be about the time to slip in and get some roasting ears to cook up.
@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
I've heard the saying knee high by the 4th of July but I don't think I've heard the saying head high by the 4th of July. The half inch of rain we got the other night sure helped out a lot. The beans planted on April 25th are up now I'll give them a few more days before I really get serious about evaluating the row populations. Clark thanks for being here watching🙂
