In my case, my girl-friend is the “bungee”. So never solo.

Would backing into the slip be easier, or would that make more sense with a fin keel boat?

I'd say getting into the slip it's generally easier in forward. But if you back in it makes getting out of the slip in forward much easier. Personally I prefer bow in because I get more privacy that way when I'm living aboard.
