First Snow Machine Ride - It was time for some fun

There is finally enough snow on the ground for us to try out the snow machine. We feel prepped for winter and figured we deserved some time to relax and have a day of fun.
It was hard to tell who enjoyed the snow more, Cody or Irie. The snow made everything beautiful and gave a sense of peace and calm. I think we are going to like winter here.

Word of caution Cody, a friend got killed on a snow machine last year when he hit a tree. He left behind a wife and son, please be careful bro.

I worked with a guy from North Pole that was riding along the pipeline ROW and he went off the side and got stabbed right through his body with a spruce tree a couple inches in diameter. It was actually right against his heart. The EMTs and other rescue people cut both sides of the tree and transported him to the hospital. It was about -20 out and that helped save him. He was on some big talk show when he recovered.

Need to stand some bamboo poles in the snow to mark some of the snowmobile hazards, like the corners of the house, the trailer hitches, etc, so when you get a big dump you know where it is safe to ride...Looks like you have some great snow to play in already....enjoy the holiday season...Wow! You need to update skis with the wide ski skins from your Doo dealer. #1 addition. I have a Expedition SE and they make a world of difference. Get some helmets and keep your head warm and safer. Just saying

Hi not sure what you are doing with the truck to protect it. When I was a poor college student with a junker car in the 70s, we brought the battery in the dorms because we didn't start it everyday. Might consider this so you have a warm strong battery when you need it. Also you might want to get a sled for the snowmobile to bring things back and forth from the truck. Proud of you guys. Stay strong

I'm from London, Ontario. Years ago, my family went to S.C. for a wedding in February. We got blamed (jokingly) for bringing 2 inches of snow with us. Almost everyone was in the ditch, except us as we drove by. Two inches of snow is nothing to us. We've seen 6 feet of snow up here

Lori how you doing? I use a cane. Could never live there. As soon as you can Cody, helmet. You have an extra for Lori? I rode snow machines in NY and every year people got hurt or killed from some injury that could have been avoided. Go Irie! Thanks for the virtual ride. Brings back old days for me. Hi Lori, I so enjoy watching your growing family! I’m so glad you seem to be feeling better now. Those first few months can be rough and miserable. I don’t know if anyone has asked you about the system you use for Irie (not sure I spelled that correctly), but maybe you will share the details as well as your opinion. I have 20 acres and an independent Pyrenees I need to corral. 😂

We use a Garmin Alpha 200 system for Irie and I’ve been super happy with it. It allows her to be off leash but also doubles as a nice GPS unit for us while we are exploring.

How do you plan to keep the house from freezing while you are away having baby?

Being due early April we hopefully won’t deal with too cold of temps anymore and will be on the other side of winter, but we may have someone come out to check on the house while we are gone and just prepare it to get cold if it so happens.

I don't know about anybody else but in 50 years of riding a snowmobile that one's making a really odd squeaky noise that I've never heard with a snowmobile before

It is a brand new sled. The squeaking was from the track, but it stopped after a couple hours of use.
