Hey all you riders, thanks for checking out the new video! Get ready for some crazy snowmobile videos this winter! It's going to be a good one! Can anyone diagnose the issue Travis is having with his snowmobile? Bad fuel pump? Kinked or clogged line? Let's see your thoughts below! :)

Jeremy Rhydes where in Arizona is Travis going???
@jeremyl36367 жыл бұрын
I’m ready for some snowmobile adventures with all 3 of you tearing it up! Sorry not sure the diagnosis on that sled... just got my 1971 Yamaha Enticer running the other day finally with the 2 carbs jets clogged up with varnish. Spent 3 hours cleaning them up and now runs like a raped ape!!!
@tyharky14377 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Rhydes carbs need cleaned
@Racer577 жыл бұрын
If its EFI, it doesn't have carbs. It may need replaced bearings in the skid, that may be restricting the track from turning and making the sled work more than it should.
@ppdangler7 жыл бұрын
throw some new gas and plugs in it asap. then go from there. prolly just needs to be ran. dude get a windshield for your mxz lol. heading over to the site to buy my tshirt man! cheers

Despite what everyone thinks, you don’t need a new sled to have fun. A older sled and some snow works just as well

My first thought was there is water in the gas
@michaelroberts2747 жыл бұрын
Being that when you first went to start the sled you showed the throttle sticking. I would rule out the throttle safety switch first, cable could of been stretched just enough to put the TSS out of whack.

Fix it! Check fuel supply to carbs and make sure the carbs are clean and the jets sent blocked. Worth checking the breather on fuel cap aswel
@JeremyRhydes7 жыл бұрын
It actually is an EFI. I think the fuel pump is going or a gas line is being pinched. Something of that sort!

I have what is basically the same sled and had the same problem. If the sled isn't running right two things (maybe three) could be your problem. The firs is your altitude sensor freezing up. You can fix this by unplugging the "oxygenated fuel" cable that is right next to the computer. Another problem could be clogged injectors. you can fix that by removing them and cleaning them with diesel fuel or carb cleaner. the final problem could be fuel pressure- this can be fixed by either a new pump or getting a pump rebuild kit. Otherwise, just make sure you have sealed all of your vacuum lines. I will hopefully have a video up on my main channel- OutdoorPower with a quick overview of how to fix the RPM bogging and diving problem.
@annevandusen19925 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeremy, I love watching you guys ride and work on older sleds and have fun doing it! If Travis's sled is EFI it might be a clogged injector or maybe old gas? also depends what was done to store sled at the end of last winter. Just my 2cents worth. Keep the videos coming!

always check fuel lines for any air or cracks mines did the same
@martinwhite017 жыл бұрын
if i had to guess id say cracked/kinked/frozen fuel line or water in the fuel. check the lines to see if there really hard and brittle if so change them, the smallest bit of air being sucked in will make it act like that. i doubt its a stuck power valve or throttle safety switch due to the fact that it comes and goes

Hey Jeremy try lifting the snowmobile and throttle it before riding it could help alot if the belt is slipping. If not check for holes or cracks around the tubes or where the air goes into the engine, i had a problem where there was air in the choke hose check for bubbels there if not there could be a problem with the fuel

I'm 75% sure its a clutching issue. Because if it was a fuel issue it would barely move at all. The clutches should be taken apart and gone through, especially the secondary. But yeah start with the small issue of the fuel pump/gas lines first then work your way over to the clutches

the problem with the sled might be the throttle safety switch. at the base of the steering column there is a three wire plug that u have to unplug and plug back in. my sled had the same problem and it solved the problem. google for better information

We want to see you work on Travis snowmobile
@austinsproblems93107 жыл бұрын
Well it must be a fuel sending issue because it has a full tank of fuel, or its possible that the fuel lines or fuel filter has junk in it. Do a check list. First clean the lines, if that don't do anything than change the fuel filter. If that don't work than pull off the fuel sending line from the fuel pump and see if it is pulling much fuel. If none of the above than the injectors must be clogged. If not try to clean out and take some compressed air to the reseaving nipple. Otherwise were the fuel is brought to the engine. Other than those in not sure. You are correct that it is a fuel issue. And yes please do work on Travis's snowmobile in your garage together

Try removing the fuel rail and soaking the injectors in injector cleaner. I've got a '94 ext 580 that is efi and has had that issue. Could also be a relay on the back of the efi module. Both are things to check Good Luck
@noahjacobson91927 жыл бұрын
you could just pour some injector cleaner on/through injectors too instead of removing and soaking them
