Hello family, I wanted to give you guys some exciting updates in this video, but as you can see things took a turn for the worse and updates were the last thing on my mind. But with that being said, I’ve got some exciting news and updates in the next video along with an awesome next video. Right now, I’m just having fun, and doing a test run with my equipment and experimenting with certain things before. Well you have to wait for the updates because it’s it’s gonna be some exciting news. As always, thanks for your continued support. It means the world to me. Ps. I made some mistakes while tent camping for the first time but what’s important is I learned from them and going forward I won’t make those mistakes again

Dear Nomi... Never. Never. Never. Cook or eat in your tent!!! I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! YOU NEVER COOK IN OR NEAR YOUR TENT! FOOD SMELLS ON YOUR TENT IS VERY DANGEROUS! Cook and eat away from your tent and store your food away from your tent, as well. Use a bag up off the ground in a tree (tho rodents can get to it), or in a bear box. Safety first! Since you have cooked and eaten in this tent, I would not use this tent for any hiking/camping trips. And even if you don't smell it, animals' sense of smell are thousands of time more sensitive. No joke. Love to ya, woman! Safe travels and beautiful adventures 💕

So, you've already gotten a plethora of comments about eating in your tent. I agree with the comments about not using that tent again in a wilderness situation when you are alone. One thing about bear spray, you have it in a bag, with a draw string, clipped with a carbineer to the top of your tent. You have to sit up, unclip the bag, open the draw string... Too late, bear is inside your tent. Best to sleep with it with next to your head, not in the bag. If you think you won't squeeze the trigger in your sleep, sleep with it in your hand. Better yet, don't eat or store food anywhere near your tent. Oh, I have over 60 years experience tent camping. You can do it. Just takes practice. And if you go to the Midwest where there are some dude ranches, find a camp guide and pick their brain on camping advice. You could even do a video on it. Sorry for being long winded. Love your content. God has your best in His hands. ❤❤❤

Before the classes I pictured myself lying in my sleeping bag eating my snacks, but one of the things we were taught was never eat in the tent. Some help for the tent (for when you camp again) - the string/rope and left over stakes are for the sides of the tent. You loop the string into the loop on the side of the tent and then pull it tight and stake it. It will give you a lot more room IN the tent when you do that. And it will be more secure. Such a fun video. I've been a tent camper my whole life. Now that I'm in my 60s, gimme an RV. No more sleeping on the ground for me. lol

This is truly a beautiful location. The thumbnail photo alone made me click right away! 🏕️ I see a lot of good safety advice in the comments. I camp in parts of the US where there aren't grizzlies, so I stay snacking in my tent at night... But I do put all the food/scented items away from the tent or back in the car before bed so I don't wake up to smaller critters trying to chew through my tent to get my Pringles or fruity chapstick 😂 As for the location being exposed to lightning and wind, there is THE BEST podcast called National Park After Dark - it's two women who talk about our beautiful parks, encouraging you to enjoy the outdoors (especially as a solo woman), _and_ how to stay safe. Most of their episodes are about survival stories and true crime out in the parks, but they also have episodes paying tribute to legends and icons of the outdoors, and stories about the people and animals who work hard to rescue others (the episode about the Iditerod dog race is so special and inspirational). They did an episode about lightning safety and I learned SO MUCH life saving info I never heard before. The episode is about a group of men who repeatedly ignored all the warnings about hiking Half Dome in the rain and the very serious consequences they faced. It's a bit horrific but I have already used the information I learned for my own outings. I seriously can't recommend the show enough, especially for anyone who loves the outdoors and a bit of drama. Sending you all the best on your adventures!!! 🏕️🥾⛰️

I would have to sleep with my shoes on and my glasses attached somewhere on my body, and my phone in my pocket, just in case I have to run! But you’re one brave gal! I’m enjoying your travels.

OMG, this video reminded me of my son was a Cub Scout and our first camping trip it stormed all night. The boys were scared, and some families tents flooded. I said I would never ever ever camp again 😅. Now my son is on his way to Eagle Scout, and I actually like camping.

You are so brave. I would be terrified in a tent while it's storming. You definitely got a good tent with all that wind blowing. I admire your strength and courage, lady. ❤😊

Nomi I am not a camper but I think a small tool kit with hammer and string and maybe a large roll of duck tape might be something to consider, you did good 👍

Peak Fuel is one of the best freeze dried meals. Haven't had the curry but had 2 others. They are salty but when you consider they are for hiking and you need the electrolytes and more calories than usual, they are really good.
