I did this with a Jeep once. Only drove it 40 miles, though. Nothing like the 1500 miles drives I see on YT all the time.

Its so stupid! I just bought a 1985 chevy Silverado from a guy who let it sit in a barn for 20 years like that and boy was it nasty! It suprisingly started right up!

Right on man. Keep bringing the ford back from waisting away in bone yard or fields I just rescued a 74 Super Camper Special kinda weird trucks spare tire is in the right side of bed has 140 in wheel base it was sitting for twelve years in the blackberrys I drained 3 gal of water from crank case and it was hydro locked from rain going the plug treads did a bunch of prep before I tried to move engine I pulled dist and drilled oil pressure but it runs real nice now I'm starting a 79 super cab doing a 4 by 4 conversion dana 60 front and rear 429 gonna keep this one for my self there are no better trucks in my opinion

That's not bad for sitting in a yard for years and got we running and driving. It reminds me of my 74 f100 Had a 302 small block Ran great then the timely chain broke and never was the same. Had some good times in that old truck

I have an 85 f250 it was in a field for like 10 years then was sold to a mechanic for work truck it was not cared for and it got auctioned off to the last owner before me he used it for work but decided it was junk due to vacuum leaks but he was no car guy then I bought it and now it is getting rewired and has proformance parts I'm excited to hear her soon

I have a 1968 F100. Grandpa's tell 1972, my Dad's tell 1988, and then I took it over. I love the truck and it has never been parked. I drive it at least one day a week now since I drive a company vehicle home and 2007 grand Marquise for the other times. If I could not fix it I could never watch it wither away. It has been to good for me. I would sell it or sell something else and fix it. Witch is not often, it is very reliable. Normally if something does stop working it is easy to work on

Nice old Ford I almost pissed my pants laughing when you opened the door and I saw that vintage seat cover my dad had one in his 1978 f150 same green although his was tu tone green upper white in middle and roof was white was automatic with air rubber floor crank windows sadly in 1985 while I had it at a local mall it was stolen and never found insurance did real good for my dad so we went out and bought a 1986 f150 lariat together my dad passed a year later and I kept it until 1993 then traded it in on a new f150 super cab have only owned Ford trucks

IWhat a great find ! I had a white XLT Lariat that looked a lot like yours. It was the best riding truck I ever had, although it had a hard time passing up a gas station !

I'm sure you will as long as it wasn't parked for jumping time or a head gasket that's the only things really go on them and they are easy to fix i can't work on the throttle bodies or Triton motors I tell people if it has a carb.on it I can fix it on the side of the road at least to get it home .and I have watched my dad as a kid do some junlkievstunt things with the old Ford's my Uncle Jack use to say as long as you know the dance step for it they would fire up cold blooded most Ford's

Grew up working on Ford's, The Ol'Man "affectionately" always picked 'em up used because he would gas N go and change the oil every 3 or 4 years religiously! Lol but that carb was 1 trick I was taught to install a brass fitting to accept the fuel filter in because brass threads were way stronger than aluminum carb threads for less than $1 👍✌️

My husband says that'll make you a nice truck when you're done with it he told me he bought one out of junk yard years it was a 79 ford f150 4 wheel drive he told me and fixed it and drove it and got hard up sold and regrets letting it go said pulled like a tank

@Roderick Moreno You can use a 12 volt fuel pump to pump fuel from the gas can. Doing this lets you keep from sucking fuel from the tank that that has been sitting for years. You can make it home and clean the tank and main lines later. These cheap little 12v pumps come in handy for sucking the old fuel from the tank also.

I had a 1975 Dodge one ton box truck with a 360 that set for ten years. All it took was pouring some fresh gas in the carburetor and it started right up. If any old engine is covered completely and critters don’t corrupt it, it will start if it’s not locked up.

Put number 1 cylinder at top dead center, see where the distributor is pointing, then set the wires to proper firing order.
