First Start, Ryobi 2 Stroke One + Easy Start 25.4cc Line Trimmer Curved Shaft

Hey guys and welcome back to another video!
As you seen in the previous video, mum and dad went out and bought a Masport mower, they also bought a Ryobi Line Trimmer. This was the 1st start ever. My dad's a bit silly sometimes, he thought it was a smart start but he was actually talking about the mower. But It's nice and quiet and powerful.

My son and I struggled to get this same brand new trimmer to start following (by the book instructions), not even with the easy start would it start (highly frustrating). We finally got it working, disregarding instruction by the manufacturer, just by the HOT start 'Run' choke position and pulling the cord a few times.

Prime 10 times, full choke, pull cord 4 times, half choke, pull cord until start but no more than 6 times

I have a Ryobi curved shaft, not exact same as above (primer in different place) but the thing is a shit to start. The instructions you give sound exactly like from the manual but yeah mate the bloody thing is so frustrating. I even changed the petrol mix from 2 stroke + Unleaded 91, to 2 stroke + Unleaded 98. Still krud.

I bought the Masport mower with the ‘smart start’ and had issues trying to start it. Found out that you have to move the throttle all the way forward as far as it can go as this setting actually primes the carburettor. Pull the cord a couple of times and bingo. I also have the Ryobi trimmer - the straight shaft with various attachments and after a while it becomes very difficult to start when cold. Planning on buying the ‘Easy start’ tool to overcome the issue. Just on the Ryobi trimmer, they should modify the shaft to include a spline type fitting because after a while the two shafts that connect the motor to the various various tools become loose and can twist out alignment despite tightening the connecting screw.

I genuinely believe they make these hard to start so you buy the "easy start" I have the same trouble starting mine.

Actually can be started with the battery from Ryobi without having to pull the cord,saw it on another video. 3

Can't know it's a bargain by starting it and not even using it, they're gutless. Same price for a Stihl , had one for 17 years. I'll stick with Stihl.

To ALL THOSE who have or own Ryobis........use that oil thats included in the box and fill your tank with ONLY (O N L Y) NON-ETHANOL gas....NOT unleaded, NON ETHANOL!!!! and once you mix the entire 2.6oz of oil in that tank......shake it baby!!!!! the unleaded gas is gonna kill your motor soon!!!

Just purchased mine brand new and my head still isnt spinning despite taking it off x10. Engine starts fine, bolts all in, ryobi piece of shit!!

@@jacobcurtis372 jacob.....my coworker told me to use only Non ethanol/oil mix......have that in my tank and guess what? I can lift the lever to the UP position (run) when she is cold and guess what? 1 to 2 pulls without holding the throttle.....she starts!!!!! thats how good non ethanol is!!!

when you first buy it......fill the port tank with non ethanol gas and that oil 2.6 in the box......mix the concoction, pour that baby in.....prime that bugger and "you are welcome!" and as a note: I reconfigured my trimmer head from plastic to an aluminum head (you have to manually thread it BUT the thicker the line, the stronger it holds). and the official instructions say not to exceed over 10k.......well, I dont read well and I gun my throttle way PAST 10k and she still buzzes!!!!!
