First Start Turbo 6.2 Detroit Diesel

The old 6.2 Diesel is back up and running officially. After having just done Head Gaskets but used a std 6.5 Mahle set and blew them in 18 hours I used the Fel-Pro Permatourqe 6.2 10 over Head Gaskets this time. I am relieved that she is running again and am still taking it easy to properly break in all the new parts.
New Parts & Performance Upgrades Made:
ARP Studs, Polished 6.5 Rocker Arms, Push Rods, Polished Lifters, Polished Lifter Guides, Retainers, Diamond Precups, Lowered Compression by Deshrouding the Valves while increasing engine cc's, Ported Heads Intake & Exhaust, Ported DB2 Inlet, Pump up 3/4-1 turn, Ported HX Turbo Downpipe Adapter, Ported Turbo Twin Scrool Housing, Fel-Pro Permatourqe 10 over Head Gaskets, Polished Pistons & Combustion Chambers, Dual Pull CDR Setup, 6.5 DB2 Injection Lines, Manual Cold Advance.
The truck is like a whole new machine again and has the get up I was wanting. I have many more updates and upgrades left to do so more content to come. Love your Truck & it will Love You too.

That is so awesome that you got it back up and running what you have done to that truck helps me to keep trying with my 1998 one ton. Your oil cooling system look great that's my next job for me. You like using quadstar but it's too expensive in canada to use There Stuff.. great starting video. Good luck with the heads holding better this time around. I think you got it

@@TheAscendedMaster I love your build so much. I just had mine quoted for the machine shop. 1500 to be machined, balanced and handed back to me as a short block. I am going to go with brand new promaxx heads.

​@@IDIoilburnerPromaxx Heads are a great replacement. I have had no issues with mine and haven't been gentle on this engine at all lol. They could use a little dremel work prior to install to clear up some of the casting but not necessary.

I just got a 6.2 detroit been sitting for 6 years. Has 48k miles. What should i do to get it running

Check for starter brace have good connections bleed fuel system see if glow plugs work probably replace harmonic balancer after it's running

@@LouDawgsC10 depends on what you want done. I upgraded from the Block up most just to run a turbo and it cost me $20k+ but could easily throw another $20k into her for more upgrades. There are a number of ways to build an engine but just depends what you want to do.

Another option to get better HP out of the 6.2 is swap for 6.5 heads and run the 6.5 Borg warner intake set up and exhaust manifold w/ Turbo can do this all under 2500$ find a good donor truck or Find a complete engine
