First startup Jet turbine powered garden tractor Rover 1s60

experimental Rover 1s60 gas turbine, homemade hydrostatic tractor. In this video the engine did not get up to full speed. Governor was stuck, please watch the second video to see the tractor driving around at 46k rpm sustained.

Very very cool. But I am not sure about having any body parts parallel iwith the output shaft. One bit fails and it's shrapnel... but still insanely cool. The 1S60 is such a brilliant engine.

The engine had to have come from the disbanded car program. Hope someone with jet engine maintenance skills watched over it. Could turn to shrapnel if not cared for.

It actually came from Ford’s turbine R&D department where it was being studied. This is a very early experimental model 1s60.

I have just bought the same engine what are you using to drive the wheel? What is the engine connected to as obviously this is a single shaft how can I make a clutch from the the engine are you using a hydraulic pump? Thanks
