My son went through a phase of no sleep when he was on the verge of walking. Apparently it’s a thing it’s like they know they’re so close to doing it so they’re basically super eager to start the day and then they don’t want to go to sleep at night. It settled once he got confident walking. Similarly had a similar thing around turning over and crawling.

Sleep schedules can be tough for sure! What I've found works with my 2 kids is not letting them nap late. 3pm is the latest I let mine nap until then we wake them. This leaves a nice window for a 7:30pm bedtime. The key is routine and consistency. Around 6:30pm, start a wind down. No TV or electronics for him. This allows him to not be over stimulated and his body to register it's almost time for sleep. Do the same thing nightly. Bath, brush teeth, feed, story, cuddles. If you're able and feel you need to, find a local sleep consultant, but NOT one who implements the cry it out method.

So I got the gorgeous black and white tiles for my porch and I love them HOWEVER my friend who has a larger house got the exact same place tiled that you are planning on doing, right where the staircase is and it's the main regret of her house renovations. She recently had a baby and has a big dog and she said she's mopping the tiles twice a day otherwise they start looking dirty really quick. Anyway just a point to consider before going with the black and white tiles. They are stunning though.
