I used to live in Canada and remember watching his first game. He had a no-hitter going until the 9th inning with 2 outs and then he gave up a home run. The Blue Jays won 2-1 and you could tell he was the real deal

Roy Halladay was an idol to me growing up , in his second ever start back in 98 he went to the 9th with 2 outs without allowing hit then he lost his no hitter but that's when I knew he was special. He got sent back down fixed up his mechanics came back up in 2001 and literally was the number one bonifided ACE in all of baseball from 2003-2011 He was the best pitcher in his generation and this is tragic I broke down in tears after the news he was so professional so consistent but a better human. We all will be praying for the Halladay family. #Rip #GoneTooSoonNotFair #HallOfFamer #TheDoc

i grew up watch in him play on the phillies. Every time he was on that mound, it was magical. More than that, really. Devastating to see someone I grew up watching gone before me. Rest easy Roy. Throw some no hitters on the field of dreams for me.

He signed a ceremonial retirement contract with the jays. Dude is a Toronto legend. On a Wendell Clarke or Vince carter type guy. You hear his name and it was nothing but love from the north. Rip doc. God bless his family.

Devastating news. He was an incredible pitcher, and by all accounts, an even greater human being. He lived a beautiful life, as exemplified through his tremendous philanthropy through such endeavors such as "Doc's Box" where he hosted children and families from the Hospital for Sick Children at Rogers Centre. Prayers to his family.
@SparklingHarmony7 жыл бұрын
He was one of the only reasons to watch the Blue Jays during the 2000's. It's even more amazing when you look at the fact that he pitched in hitter friendly parks and often faced the powerful Yankees and the Red Sox lineups. Not to mention steroid was still a thing.
@millionfish7 жыл бұрын
Very sad. My earliest Blue Jay memories as a child were of Doc. This man inspired so many people and was the ultimate professional when the Jays were in dark times. It was unfortunate that the management wasn't able to build a playoff calibre team to at least give him a shot at a World Series. He was and still is a Toronto sports icon like Mats Sundin and Vince Carter are.

I come from the Baseball Family having been the girlfriend of a MLB player then became a Coach in the Major Leagues. Although I didn't know Roy personally, I feel like I did because when you are in the Major Leagues I believe you become a Baseball Family. My heart is broken for his wife and two sons. I think, how are they going on with this tragic loss? I am so lost for words, however I am praying for his family every day and I am asking God to give them strength through and through. He is in Heaven with the Lord, Jesus Christ, and at complete Peace with Him. It's just the family, the Baseball World, the fans of his and everyone that he has touched in this life will be sadly, sadly missed. Roy, May you Rest In Peace and God Bless your family.

The very sad part is when men don’t consider their families and decide to sprout stupid dangerous things. Don’t ride a motorcycle no not take up flying as a hobby if your a father and husband. If your a single male dating do what you like but this woman told her husband she did not want him doing this and he lost his life because he should have listen to his wife. I am sure she is angry and hurt right now. His sons are now fatherless and it’s not cool. All because he wanted to fly a private plane. I live in Texas and can’t tell you how often I hear about these little plans falling out of the sky some live and other die. It’s stupid just be with your family if your that bored.
