I remember when they first came out, saw it in Transformers but what really made me want one was the day some guy in a 2010 SS downshifted and chirped the tires at 45ish passing my aunt's truck. Props to GM for making these cars so good. The fact they're selling so well is a testament to how good a job they did. I'm not even a Chevy guy, but this made Ford step up their game, and Mopar has improvements in the works for the Challenger as well. Everytime one of the three ups the anty the other two have to follow suit.

Really cool to come back to this video now in 2022. I bought a 2014 2SS/RS in 2019 which was lost in an accident due to a drunk driver, and now just picked up a 2011 2SS/RS this year. I remember going to Disney world in 2011 ish, the speed track rollercoaster ride was sponsored by Chevrolet at the time. During the ride it took you outside for a brief time and on the ground there was 2011 Camaro SS's lined up nose to nose in all different colors and stripes. I've wanted one since..if you can pick up a used 2010-2015 SS, Do it!!

I have watched the "Extreme Factories" episode of the new Camaro. I have always been a fan of all American muscle, The precision that the new Muscle cars go through to become a finished product are just as critical as any of the most expensive production cars on the market. The specs required in every facet of the production process is so precise and critical, you are vertually guaranteed a decent car. The only difference is material quality in the cockpit and the hand-built engines.

I have nothing against this car but the people reviewing it seemed to me like they didn't know what they were doing. If you can't get a faster manual tranny 0-60 time. Then your doing it wrong. Just because it has a clutch does NOT mean you have to drop it from 4k plus. Usually with RWD that helps but by no means always. Plus I don't think 30 degree weather will have that much of a negative effect on traction. Maybe just a little. Still, cool car, good vid.

No matter how quick the v6 is, it still isn't the same as having a deep rumble from the exhaust and knowing you have beef under the hood when it comes to the pony/muscle cars. I hope we aren't headed for a day where the pony cars lose the v8 altogether and become 6 cylinders on the high end models as well. The earlier rumors of a forced induction 6 cylinder corvette about broke my heart.

Last, Modern Elises feel like they could be taken to a track and abused without falling to bits, but then there's not that much inside to break. Don't be worried if the aluminium tub creaks and rattles a bit - there's little sound deadening and most of the interior is bare metal. The pop-in-pop-out roof bars sometimes have dodgy seals too - but that's not a big worry. Taken straight from topgear themselves.

The smog in Los Angeles is overstated, it's greatest concern is a visual aesthetic. The mountainous region traps all types of airborn substances in a linger, it did that when the indians were making simple camp fires or slash and burning crops too, smog is as old as LA itself. Unless you have severe allergies it is a non issue for anyone, it certainly isn't a suffocating haze as found in Thailand or Malaysia or even Mexico City. LA is far from being Mexico City.

@SweetCash33 just because the grille's made of a cheaper material doesn't at all mean that the actual vehicle is bad. I test drove the Camaro 2SS Manual and liked it. The car did seem kind of bulkier than my 94 Z-28 6 spd man. My old Camaro would out corner the new one. My old Camaro having less HP would probably be able to keep up with the new Camaro despite HP difference. It's all about customizing. I liked the new Camaro but it doesn't resemble any old Camaro really. And when it came to price Holy Crap over $44K! My 94 Z-28 was way less. I kept my 94 and will only continue to keep upgrading.

I love the look of the 80s Camaro. It's so boxy, haha. How can you compare a Camaro to a BMW? It's pretty easy, drive one then drive the other. BMWs earned their spot in the automotive hall of fame by putting a well-tuned suspension on a solid chassis. BMWs manage to blend in a comfortable ride without compromising sporting ability. Guess what? The Camaro also has a solid chassis with a well-tuned suspension. It rides comfortably and still takes corners very well. A comparison is natural.

Great looking car that came to production almost straight from the car show concept car gig with only slight changes...It won't get the mileage advertised, but the EPA has been lying on those numbers for so long it's irrelevant. Take any EPA estimate by about .8 and you MIGHT do that well...With a car like the Camaro, which tempts you to gun for fun, and you may not even do that well. Reliability is another issue, but it's likely to be far better than prior generations of this model.
@Tophermen15 жыл бұрын
For me, yeah. Why not think fuel efficiency with power and performance for a muscle car? I know for sure I do not want to be paying $50 plus each week for a car that has great power and performance, but crappy fuel mileage. Car and Drive states that the V6 3.6L Camaro gets 17 city mpg and 29 hwy mpg, and has a 19 gallon fuel tank. That's impressive for a sports car, but I have a feeling that the sticker mpg is somewhat skewed.

Between a S3 2.0 litre turbo and a Camaro SS/RS, I would take the Camaro any day of the week. You want good gas consumption? Buy a Prius, or Honda Civic. I think they would be more suited to your needs. The Camaro does 0-100 in another test, 4,7 secs with rollout. So the Audi is outperformed and outblinged by a long way.

And the only thing that I dislike about the Camaro with the V6 (aside from the fact that it isn't a V8) is the annoying ass exhaust note. I would prefer a quiet muscle car over one that sounds like a ricer. Don't get me wrong, the new V6 is faster than a lot of the "GT" versions of other cars, perfect car for a younger person, but an exhaust mod would be a must have in my book.

@jdrizzo21 I was talking about the old American cars. The US was on top of the automobile market. They had vinyl bucket seats, and leather interiors. Oldsmobile Cutlasses were fast and luxurious. They had the most comfortable seats around, and the realest looking faux wood. There was barely any cheap plastic in those cars, and they went for $3,000-$4,000, compared to Porsche cars of the era, going for around $12,000. I agree that today, we have hit rock bottom of quality, especially Ford.

I find the Chevy Suburban drives way easier than the Camaro, it so intimidating experience yet, it makes me feel manlier than driving a Suburban. The Camaro is the best value in its class, the SS accelerates and handles better than the Challenger SRT-8 for LESS and offers more displacement for buck than Challenger and Mustang. GM were known for making awesome power, but surprisingly efficient engines.

The LS engine is literally a Ford 427 engine which now dates back 46 years. Cross bolt mains, Ford oiling system also using dry sump oiling systems like the cobra. Four bolts sealing each cylinder. Sodium filled valves. Symmetrical intake and exhaust runners. The intake ports are raised vertically allowing a straight shot for much greater flow big block numbers. This all came from the Ford 427 high riser. Imagine all of this was taken from Ford. For you Chevy guy's its a sad truth.
