That cooper cane may have a thin blade, but I personally think it makes up for it with it's sheer cutting ability. If I had to take a guess, it would be very effective versus padded armor which makes it a decent weapon for fighting a common prepared target. Plus, it has decent versatility too for being single-edged and more polearm-ish

The Messer is always fun to see, "German engineering is the finest in ze world!" Quote for the memes. :D Was not expecting the modified Sly Cooper-like weapon to cut so well! The weight on the opposite end possibly helps pull the blade on through a cut, despite feeling so awkward? Generally weight on the same cutting end seems more practical from what I've seen. That blade being to thin and razer sharp definitely helps make it so effortless. Great for soft targets but as we know when Skall cut with the Albion Principe (past video), if it twists in wood grain, or stuck on hard targets, then durability is a glaring weakness of such razer sharp blades. Thanks for the videos Skall!

The weight at the bottom might be actually helping with the furry-thief cane-blade, just with its inertia pulling from the other end. I wonder what a pollaxe would do with something like that at the bottom.
@NevisYsbryd3 жыл бұрын
I think a pollaxe really wants more inertia for the sort of targets it is intended for, to power through and retain its penetrative power once through the armor. This thing cuts more by the shape, and that weight distribution would significantly reduce the inertia. While that downward pull might actually help with gliding swings (especially against light armor, clothes, and bare flesh), I doubt it would amount to much through significant hard armor.

The cane design performing so well is not surprising. It is a forward-angled (relative to the haft) thin blade at the end of a lever; its cutting power comes more from shape than inertia (as dictated by weight distribution and balance). It is basically a falcata crossed with a falchion on a pole.
