IT'S A BIT OF WORK BUT I KNOW HOW TO FIX ALL OF THE I-BEAM'S, CONTROL ARMS, ETC. FROM GETTING BENT. it is really simple you need to build BOXED A-arms, i-beams, control arms. thats how i roll on my prerunner. when i had tube arms they would get bent in one hard landing. i promise once you do it, you will not need to re-do again. heavy but strong. let me know if you have any questions or want photos for reference material.

For the shifters, have you heard of, or thought of a system similar to BMX gyro brakes? They would allow the wheel to turn 360+ degrees, if required. They're designed to allow bowden cables to operate around a pivot without binding.
@StuTubed5 жыл бұрын
Even without the gyro, cables on each side would be better, and negate the need for cutting the dash since they can be routed.

Yeah I vote for simple cables or hydraulic. The rod seems like it will be changing lengths and riding the gears at locks.

Our plan is to build a few motorized bikes and customize them all and make use of the nice cold weather here in FL! We always wanted to make something cool and I decided to just go for it! You guys gave me the inspiration to just say screw it and try something cool! Worst case scenario I spend time with my mom and nephew and we build a pile of junk and have some funny memories, best case we have an awesome bike scooter gang! Keep up the awesome work and keep inspiring people like me to go for it, and grind hard for what we want.

I would like to make a suggestion. I had mentioned this suggestion to cars and cameras and they did try it but it did not work. I think the perfect shifter would be an electric solenoid. They used one off of a Cadillac power door lock solenoid and it just didn't have enough power to shift. They tried to make it shift with the motor off as we all know that it's much easier to shift with the motor running. I know they make solenoids that are directional both push and pull that are high torque as that's what it would take. Then, you can just use a little button one on each thumb area location. Just a thought and please consider it. Do some research and see if you can find a high-torque directional electric solenoid. They also make them that are high torque that are activated by air but it's anybody's guess how many shifts you would get out of a bottle of air. Not many I feel safe to assume. Let me know your thoughts guys. I love the show as I mentioned every time I leave a message. Never got a response back of any kind but that's typical I guess. Moto mule will flat say hello if nothing else.

As no doubt already mentioned, two cable shifting works very well. Allows mechanical advantage to be set perfectly and steering isn't a concern.
