First Test Drive 700cc 4x4 Monster Golf Cart | Bare Metal Fabrication

I finally got to test drive the 700cc 4x4 golf cart on air ride in part 12 of the Monster Golf Cart build! This thing is fast! I was having too much fun and never thought to look at the speedometer. Whoops. The cart ended up overheating at one point and the overflow tank spewed water out. We also heard some gunshots. Overall it was a lot of fun but we didn't get to go very far. I still need to flip the front differential and build a front driveshaft to make it 4 wheel drive. I also need to fix all of the bugs like the overheating problem before I can take it to the off road park and take it in some mud and put it through some real tests. How many gears is it? What rear gears are you using? And do you have any idea what the gear ratio of each gear is? I want to do something similar but I cant find any information about what the transmissions on them are geared at. The only info I found was 3rd gear was roughly a 1.2:1

I honestly don’t know the answer to that, sorry. It’s an automatic transmission so I never really worried about how many gears it had. And I’m using all stock gearing in the transmission, differentials, and transfer case.

Absolutely awesome brother! I love your Monster Cart. :) I am finishing up my Mini Monster Truckish thingy right now. Will post soon. I got it running and driving, 650cc motor, I'm really digging your steering set up. You taught me what a boat helm was. I had been looking at electric hydraulic pumps and batteries but I like your set up wayyyyy better. Maybe I can find an old junk boat with the helm and ram in tact? My mini monster has mechanical steering now. Took me a few times of positioning my steering rack to get it to work but now it work pretty good. I'd still rather have the hydraulic set up.

I have finished the ruff draft of my fiberglass body (That stuff freaks me out when it gets to floating in the air) I am finihsing up the hood now, and then I plan on crushing some powerwheel cars and jeeps and making a KZbin spectacle out of the situation hopefully :) Take care brother, I subbed. It’s an EZGO golf cart body. Kawasaki prairie 700 engine and transmission, Suzuki samurai axles and transfer case. I have quite a few videos of the build on my channel so far.

Well it’s on air ride, so normally I drop it down all the way and then drive in. So technically I don’t have to duck to get in the garage 😉

I haven’t been able to test the top speed yet because I’m rebuilding the steering right now. It was a little bit too sketchy. But I had it up to about 35-40 mph and it was no where near topped out. I let off because it didn’t handle well. I’ll test it out properly once I get the steering sorted.
