Super helpful, thanks a lot!!! quick question: how would you go about creating a fusion360 file with short plasma bursts to act as center punch for drilling holes? short enough not to harden the metal...
@BareMetalFabrication
@BareMetalFabrication Ай бұрын
The hard part is to not harden the metal. That will happen no matter what. But to pierce holes like this I create a very short line or a very small circle and cut on the line.

Quick question we’re can I find the square tubing and the metal tubes you are using I am building a project like that and I need that type of box tubing for my frame set up

Easier way is using slots and extruding them for straight ones. Splines, arcs, circles then pipe>square, join for the custom ones.

Like your video , thought it sounded like a dog walking in the background because I have two on a wood floor that sound the same. I don’t know whether you knew it but Lang Mark had somebody come up with a piercing only placement I haven’t tried it yet. One thing that would help me out is a larger cursor or I have seen one guy used a red ring around the cursor it’s easier to follow sometimes I can’t see.

I am selling the files to make them. They files can be used to cut the pieces out on a plasma or laserjet table. www.etsy.com/BareMetalFabDesigns/listing/1260891106/14-scale-small-block-chevy-engine?Copy&ListingManager&Share&.lmsm&share_time=1689097993303

Bravo, your fabrication skills are top-notch, I just lifted a golf cart and it's a E-Z-Go 875xl, it is a tank that you sit over the front axle so with lifted tires that makes it a son of a bean to steer I was already thinking about a hydraulic boat steering and Googled it and this is the first one that came up. again I'm going to say it Bravo on your fabrication skills, looks like I'm headed down this path also.

I have a similar test plae that i use all the time I was using it following along with you when you click the circles always indicate a inside cut on mine it always indicates an outside cut which then I have to switch the arrow to inside is there a way in fusion to switch that not a big problem just annoying. Thanks

Are you using an air tank or just pumping into the bags directly?
@BareMetalFabrication
@BareMetalFabrication Жыл бұрын
No tank. Just pumping air straight into the bags. The bags are so small it only takes a few seconds to fill them up.

Thank you very much for this. I was struggling how to make a straight line inside of some stock. I do have one question though . Are you able to extrude something like that on the design tab and have it show the relief cuts? When I extrude a body with straight lines inside of it, the straight lines are not "holes" in the stock. I'd like to be able to see what it will look like before cutting if possible. Thank you!

I use splines almost every day and export as DXF. Sheetcam has no problem seeing them?
@BareMetalFabrication
@BareMetalFabrication Жыл бұрын
Sheetcam sees them I think but inkscape does not. There’s few other programs that don’t import them well but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.

FWIW - Using splines usually seems to create a bazillion lines of code and huge .nc files. I avoid them whenever possible. The three point arc works really well instead.

Thanks for sharing! At about the 43:00 mark, instead of guessing, you can use the Calibrate tool for getting the canvas really close to exact. Also, using points that are as far as possible apart, will increase accuracy. For example using the two holes that are 5.25" apart, instead of the holes that are 3" apart. Very powerful once you leverage this. I have taken photos of complicated parts including a measuring tape for calibrating. Makes modeling pretty straight forward to get all the curves and basic geometry. At 54:00 good tip for creating pierce points for post production machine work.

I was about to mention the same thing about calibrating the canvas. It's in the dropdown menu of the canvas tab.

Thanks for the explanation. My reliefs have been ellipses, up until now. All I really wanted was a thin slice.... This technique helped a lot. About to send it to the Plasma CNC for my first test with this type of relief cut.

Is there really not a single video on here of it actually being used for what it’s made for you no off-road???ive spent house today looking at as many as I can find of mini home made SXS swamp buggy type vehicle and yours is the first one that has enough ground clearance and looks somewhat similar to what I’m thinking Idk what the entire drive train is I did hear you say it’s a prairie dog I definitely wouldn’t be using a Kawasaki might go with a Polaris are maybe a big side shaft air cooled motor mounted to a transmission to a drop transfer case Toyota axles probably the way to go but if I find a wrecked big bore quad are sxs that is a year that everything is divorced might just run it to try and run A-arms with independent if I do that might add a Sami keep something like that T-case between the output shaft going to the rear and the rear would just like to get lowest gearing as possible..id like to be able to run something like a BKT tire 30 to 37 inch tall..don’t really want to use a go cart body I’d rather run a plate deck about the size of the wheel base tube bumpers might try doing everything from the tram up to support the aluminum deck out of conduit..had a Sami fram buggy that was all conduit a while back on 44in boggers yota axles did pretty good..but I run these air cooled mud motors on my boats the reliability is nice plus can be mounted to regular transmission and can get a fair amount of power with the kits they offer now..

This might be the dumbest golf cart mod I've ever seen. And I mean that as a compliment, so jealous of this. 😆 Little nit, assuming it's the inner diameter, a 1/4" air line will have 4x the volume of a 1/8" line.
