I'm one of the bigger Mahomes fans out there & my point to other Mahomes fans isn't really criticism like some think. It's really help in terms of how they should/shouldn't argue. Don't argue in a way that helps him over current players, but hurts him vs Brady. Argue in ways that can help him in both. Those arguments do exist

They both have a ton of pressure, but for different reasons If Josh Allen loses, he would have the stigma similar to I would say the Bulls of the NBA where you couldn't beat one man. Raptors could never beat LeBron. They lost to him in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015. For Allen, it would be 2020, 2021, 2024, 2025 If Patrick Mahomes loses, he loses an opportunity to have something over Brady, which he'll need because Brady has a lot of things over him, primarily h2h. If he fumbles the opportunity to 3peat, will he get that chance again ? Also, will Kelce walk out the door if they lose ? He's 35 years old & if the chance at history is gone, he may not feel like staying around any longer. Mahomes also won't be a young guy like some may think after this season. He'll be 30 with still only 3 rings & we can't just assume that it's a lock that Mahomes will keep winning rings at the same pace he has so far. The literal GOAT in Tom Brady went basically a decade straight without winning a Super Bowl, so if even the GOAT showed how hard it can be to win it all season after season, why should we assume that if Mahomes loses here, it's a guarantee that he'll start this same sort of run over ? Pressure to me is about stakes. It's gonna hurt Josh Allen some for sure, but how much ? He'll still gonna be an all time talent. He'll still gonna be one of the best of his generation. He's still gonna be elite. Historically, I don't think much changes on/hurts him with a loss. That's why I think more pressure is on Mahomes. I think of anyone in the league, Patrick Mahomes has more pressure of anyone in the league because he's the one who's chasing Tom Brady & even said himself that he's chasing the best ever in his sport & he has a huge legacy opportunity here that could sway some on his side in this legacy battle. But if he loses, he doesn't stand out from the crowd (Brady) he needs that. As I said, Brady has the h2h & that's how Brady stands out. Any opportunity Mahomes has to get things over Brady, he needs to take those & the 3peat is one It's Mahomes for me, but Allen also has a ton of pressure

Julian, respectfully- QBs have to earn the team around them (including from the box & sidelines). Mahomes is benefiting from his past success and therefore requires less Herculean efforts to achieve victory. In short, all the greats play a bad hand well. The hand that Burrow, Allen, and Jackson were delt this season have all been identical to hands that Mahomes played and got to 4 Super Bowls in 6 seasons. This is now 7 consecutive trips to the AFC championship. If you are looking at stats and wins, PM has had better seasons than JA (which is currently his best). If Allen does not win a superbowl, his legacy will be mostly forgotten in 30 years.

I partially agree, but the reason why it means nothing for Brady is because he has rings and don’t get me wrong. I’m the biggest bills fan. Josh Allen is my favorite player ever and I want him to win a Super Bowl more than anything because I believe he deserves it. He’s played well enough. This is absolutely a team sport and I believe the biggest difference for us is the coaching because we’ve had so many coaching, blunders and errors and people leaving and they got the same staff. You got offensive coma from other teams, leaving left and right in Kansas City stay strong. It’s crazy.

There are several QBs that are better at the position than Brady was. Brady and Mahomes won because of the entire TEAM. It’s very simple to understand that QBs only play offense. QBs can play “average” and still win games with a great defense. They can also play at an elite level but still lose because of a bad defense. Mahomes isn’t better than Allen because the KC defense is better than the Bills defense. It’s like saying Brady is the goat because he has 7 rings. Nick is triggered but it’s def more pressure on Mahomes. Because if he loses he leaves the door open the next 5 years for either a Lamar/Allen to catch him for best QB of this era. Because Allen could pull within 2 rings of him or Lamar could really be considered 2 rings within him as well considering he has the edge in MVPs and All Pros and could be considered on Mahomes level if he got 2 rings and added a couple more MVPs. I know Chiefs fans think they are going to be in AFCCG/Super Bowl every year but their PPG and Mahomes passer rating has been slowly but surely declining for years as Kelce is still great but Father Time is creeping in a little bit. There’s a realistic chance that Worthy/Rashee Rice and rest of crew aren’t good enough in future to make up for that gap and Mahomes is much closer to rest of the field after this year. But if Mahomes wins he puts the lead he has on rest of the field so high it would take a decade for anyone to realistically catch him or just a cartoonish best case scenario would take 5/6 years

When talking about GOATs, everything counts double for or against them. Mahomes also needs this 3peat and other stuff over Brady because Brady has the h2h, the most important thing, over Mahomes.
