I made predictions on the last Eagles Nick Wright video. Turns out I was right on 4 out of 7 of them. He didn’t dismiss Barkley’s performance, didn’t mention the slippery field, and didn’t claim the Eagles would lose if Love was healthy for the last play. I was also surprised for him to say the funk is now over. But he did totally dismiss Cam Jurgeons, focused on the 2 interceptions, said the win was ugly and therefore doesn’t mean much, and said the defense isn’t good because they were close against Green Bay (a good team).

1. 3rd OC in three years. 2. The fumble was Jurgens’ fault not Hurts. 3. The 2nd INT, AJ clearly slipped, that’s not a pick if he doesn’t. But still, throwing across the body is rarely a good idea. 4. Every QB throws interceptable balls that don’t get picked multiple times a game, even the Great Mahomes. I played QB, every throw you chance getting picked, your guy could get hit in the hands and pop it up and you get an INT for that even if the throw was perfect. Flip side, I never understood why me making a two yard pitch got credit for a 70 yard score when my guy took it and made everyone miss, that’s just the position. The blitz stats and the beautiful TD passes, much better, wasn’t getting that during “the funk.” Gotta clean some things up but Green Bay ain’t trash and the field was trash and they were in Brazil, weird situation. Let’s give it a few games and then worry if Jalen has 12 TOs going into week 5. The first team offense took no preseason snaps and it certainly looked like they could’ve used some game reps. 2nd half was much better for both teams.

The defense starts the game with with two goal line stands, make the Packers go 1/4 in the RZ, force a TO (almost two if we recovered the fumble forced by Slay), and we're supposed to be concerned about the defense cause we give up a couple big plays to the Packers? Lol. Last year towards the end it felt like we were giving up 3rd down regardless of distance, I'm feeling way better about the defense after week 1 this year. Jalen's picks were trash (especially the 2nd one given the situation) but beyond that I liked how he and the offense played. Last year it felt like pulling teeth most of the time to get yards, this year way more of the offense was working on time and on schedule. If Jalen can get back to taking care of the ball I think the league gets cooked this year. I think he can, it's weird cause most QBs commit TOs under pressure, Jalen seems to struggle when his early reads are taken away regardless of pressure.

I think a lot of the defensive woes of both teams can directly be attributed to that seeing as how the defense has to be far more reactionary than the offense (receivers know exactly when they're going to make their break, the cover men have to then react to that in a fraction of a second)
