I dont understand what people are even talking about. The detroit lions have pulled their starters early in the 4th quarter 3 times this season and put in backups then started running the ball and kneeling. If lions tried they probably could've hit 70 atleast once maybe twice already. Only team that they had a personal beef with was cowboys and they still pulled starters. Who cares about how many trick plays they do, you dont know their strategy. The threat alone will probably be a great benefit in post season preparation for the lions

There is no way a practice field could be clear of a small camera ... lol, why not practice the plays in a reg season game and use it again in the post season. It just increases the load to prepare to play them if it was really new info to the opponent. Lions can handle the load of learning trick plays better than opposing teams can keep all that info in thier brains and react in split second recognition. I trust in Sheila Ford Hamp, Brad Holmes, Chris Spielman, Rod Wood, Mike Diesner, Dan Campbell, Aaron Glenn, Ben Jonson, Hank Farley... this whole org is amazing... I am NEVER going to assume I can second guess them and why they do things, I don't work in the NFL and these guys are just too good. But another reason might just be because they can, and the trick plays are fun for the players coaches and fans.

So as a lifetime lions fan let me tell you what's going on. This offense is playing better than any other in the league. The defense is playing very well even in game that they should have lost. The problem is it's Detroit, they were so bad for so long now that they are the greatest right now they won't get that recognition. It's detroit and it's OK by league standards to ignore their success and still see them as inferior. If the lions win it's because the other team didn't play well, if the lions lose it's see we told you they aren't great. Goff is the best qb in the league this year but the entire NFL see the logo and treat it , him, and the team as a joke. Rock on Lions!!!!

It's not like the Lions are playing their starters to the end of these games & trying to pile on points. In the two biggest blowouts of the year, the starters only played just over 3 quarters of the game & they barely scored any points once the backups came in bc they were primarily just running out the clock for the entire 4th quarter, only passing in obvious passing situations with the goal of extending the drives to finish the game as quickly as possible. If the Lions were truly trying to embarrass teams & run up the score to the extreme to do it, Campbell could have played his starters until the end & they probably would have easily scored at least another 2 touchdowns in the Jags & Titans games. People were giving the Lions all kinds of grief about challenging a catch late in one of the blowouts, which is also stupid. Just because you are dominating a team & the game is essentially over, doesn't mean you should just overlook a clearly incorrect call, regardless of whether or not challenging it ultimately matters as far as the outcome of the game. The goal is to play the game a certain way from kickoff to the final whistle, regardless of the score.....and relaxing that standard just because you are blowing a team out is an easy way to hurt yourself in the long-run, as maybe then your players start to think....."this team we are playing this week isn't great, so I don't have to take them as seriously as far as my preparation or play as hard every single time I am on the field bc it won't matter since we are almost definitely going to beat them anyways." As soon as you let that mindset creep into the lockerroom of a team that is considered to be one of the best teams, it won't be long before one of the hungrier teams beneath them that is giving 100% effort & not overlooking little details will overtake them or that team will look past an opponent that they perceive to be inferior & it will cost them a win against a team that they could have beaten. When you only play 17 games, every single one of them matters, as the difference between making the playoffs or not often comes down to a single game for several teams every single season. Unless your team is fully bought into the fact that the game in front of them is the most important game of the season, regardless of the opponent & their record going into it, & that the next play is the most important play of the game regardless of the score or situation....and the players play accordingly (exactly like we have seen every single player on the Detroit Lions since Dan Campbell took over), the likelihood of winning a Super Bowl on talent alone with sub-par effort & preparation is extremely low, as the opponents are professionals getting paid to play too....and their livelihood depends on their production, so they are likely to be prepared to give you their best shot every single time, even if the media & fans seem to think they aren't very good or don't measure up as far as talent is concerned.

Well I think you have a good point, but I also think Nick, in an around about way , is making a good point too in that the expectations for Detroit being higher will put more pressure on them. I say that not because of the fans expectations but rather because of the players themselves. As a player if you're use to winning by large margins all the time and all of sudden you find yourself going up against a really good team who he is going blow for blow with you, and even takes a lead on you late in a game. Then that can cause you to get really tight or even panicky because you're just not use to dealing with that situation and are not battle tested. I think Kansas City last year did well in the playoffs because they were battle test and didn't take anyone for granted and knew they had to bring their "A" game every time, will Detroit be that way this year in the playoffs?

How soon they forget! In 2022 the Colts were trampling on the Vikings, 33-0 as halftime. The Vikings came back and won that game in overtime. That's pro football, fellas. The Lions aren't running up the score on anybody. They are just doing there very best to put games out of reach. Huge comebacks are rare, but if your team is down by 24 with five minutes to go, you are hoping for three 8-point scores and a favoable flip of the coin to start overtime.

He's always insinuating that Ben Johnson is wasting his trick plays, as if ben johnson only has 5 trick plays and now we're down a single one that was used in the jags game
@djdanicp2 сағат бұрын
I feel like the argument that they are "wasting" their trick plays in blowouts is foolish & short-sighted. The more successful plays they manage to put on tape, the more difficult it makes things for other teams to prepare for them. It's not like once they run a trick play, it's burned & they can't, in fact, run a variation of it from a different look or using different personal & still manage to be successful with it. If anything, the more trick plays they run successfully, the better the chances of their being able to dial up a variation & have success with it. Plus, i guarantee that Ben Johnson has a handful of extremely unique trick plays in his bag that we have never seen the likes of & that he is holding for a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency type situation when a playoff game is on the line & we absolutely need 5-10 yards &/or a TD to keep the season alive. All of the trick plays we have pulled off this season only help us going forward & anyone that argues otherwise doesn't fully comprehend the chess match that is NFL football.

This is ridiculous. The Lions don't have anything to worry about for the next 7 games. They are too strong to fall apart. They can lose a couple and they are still in the playoffs. After each game the next 7 games, they win they play next week. They lose they play next week. But in the playoffs, it's win or go home. Running up scores is ludicrous. When you are playing for 60 minutes, you play for 60 minutes. They pull their starters when Mr.Campbell decides. He's the head coach. But in the playoffs, I want the lions to rack up touchdowns. Put your opponent down. Score every single point you can. You don't need to get into situation where you are not in control of the ball and then you get beat by the clock with a last second Field goal. Then it's pack your bags. The Lions are not running up scores. They are scoring. Two different things. If you have to cry about the score, then you know you can't beat them. Here in Detroit, we are the shit sandwich for 65 plus years. Now it's the leagues turn. Doesn't taste good , does it.

So the lions have been telegraphing their plays for 2 years now...Most importantly, if both Glen and Johnson could be head coaches right now in the NFL, the Lions by that logic literally have 3 Head coaches on our team right now and thats why we are winning in such a dominant fashion! Coaches know they NEED the talent as the talent knows they need the coach...the very reason ben didnt leave this season! ..but the history of the lions is the drive behind this dominance...and when your king of the jungle...nuff said

Wtf they supoosed to do with 2 whole ass quarters left BEFORE the 4th. Just kneel it out on the goal line and kick field goals? I dont remember any teams going easy on the 0-16 lions or media saying teams liked to run the score up on the lions. Also, ran a SINGLE trick play against the Jags for 11 yards 😂 this guy doesnt watch the games he just see a clip and thinks "i know what they did"

Nick Wright a Clown! He just look for Clout at this point.

Dick Wrong acting like Ben Johnson ain’t got a stack of trick plays just waiting. And when you’ve used like 15, a defense can’t prepare for all of them. They could telegraph one then run another that they’ve already used, a good defense still wouldn’t see it coming.

But it was ok when the Lions had Dan Orlovsky and were getting the pants beat off them? Lions were getting slaughtered for years, and nobody said a word about it then. Miami scored 70 to Broncos 20 last year. Nobody cried about that.

I like your points but they need to be shorter brother.

Lions just barely beat the Texans, a lower tier AFC playoff team. Stay humble Detroit, don’t get sent home early cuz you couldn’t keep your trap shut. Go Bills🔴🔵

Only a NARCISSIST like Nick Wright can sound so apologetic without actually apologizing.

Nick doesn’t trust the Lions that is obvious. Look at what you see do you see a team that wins by 3 points with 3 seconds left; No your seeing the reincarnation of the 85 Chicago Bears . Enjoy it Relish it Cherish it. 😎

"In what media perceives to be the inferior conference" 😂 hes the only one who who believes this cause he refuses to think the chiefs have a easy strength of schedule now that the afc is currently extremly top heavy. Hes acting like the nfc is wide open like last season when this is the tightest its ever been. For fucks sake the Lions are in a division where 7-3 means youre THIRD in rankings. Like wtf 😂

Nick feels threatened by anybody who is a threat to Patrick mahomes or his Chiefs and he'll always make stuff up or try to look at it in a negative way and boast his team up

LMFAO, Nick said the NFC was the INFERIOR conference. Dude's a embarassment to his parents and sports.
