Not that this has anything to do with Russ but I get annoyed anytime nick uses Payton as a great source on who’s good qb or not. Sean Payton has gotten too much of a runway off that one Super Bowl. He never brought the saints back to that position in a weak division where he was constantly favored. Also I do not feel because he got bo nix that suddenly this will be a better team. We are talking about a coach who chose taysom hill as brees successor.

Nick thinks he's the smartest person in the room. He was confident that Russ was going to play poorly his 2nd year in Denver. Although sure stats don't always paint the full picture, numbers ARE important and objective measure of performance. You don't get to minimize stats depending on the player you're talking about. Russell's stats were right on par with his other 11 seasons. The only bad season was in 2022 under Hackett and dealing with 3 injuries. His playing style is not what Payton wanted and based on his early comments about him, his intentions were always to get rid of him.

His numbers might of been better his second year in Denver but he still looked like shit, after two years still couldn’t even sneak into the playoffs as a 7th seed, that’s pathetic for how good people claim Wilson to be, it’s time to wake up and realize Wilson is a has been and isn’t the same person anymore, all you have to do is watch any game the last 3 years and you can clearly see it

Didn't they say Wilson was the QB1 starter in the beginning of training camp? I've heard nothing from the Steelers to make me think Justin Fields is getting the start week 1. I've also seen nothing from Fields to make me think he will either. I think the Steelers keep it ambiguous in the media only for Justin Fields mental development. Or do people think that just because Wilson is hurt and so fields is playing in the preseason that somehow means he's magically the starter? Because that makes literally no sense. Kirk cousins is the starter but he's not out there either.

Sean Payton been coaching more years than Russell Wilson but they both got the same amount of rings (1). 16 yrs vs 12 yrs. More losing seasons than Wilson , let's stop acting like Sean Payton is a GOAT in coaching. He also had the GREAT QB Brees most of them years. WHY only 1 ring ?

Sean Payton is an average coach who got lucky when the Saints picked up Drew Brees. What other quarterbacks has he had success with ZERO! Fired from the Eagles as an asst. Failed with Quincy Carter, Vinne Testeverde, and Drew Bledsoe at Dallas. Trust me, Denver is never going to be a winner with him as head coach. He will soon either be fired or retire. What a joke!

Payton js a good coach but I think his coaching style and play calling are antiquated. Yes he only has 1 ring but the Saints should have played in 2 more Super Bowls. The Minneapolis miricle comes to mind. The pass interference call that was obvious to anyone with sight shouldn’t have been called. That happened to the Saints 2 times that I remember. One of the calls would have sealed the win for them and at least got them to another Super Bowl. Also Payton puts too much stock in RBs and not enough in WR’s. Drew Brees best WR for the first half Of his Saints career was 7th round draft pick Marcus Colston. Now one thing that Sean Payton is absolutely brilliant at is assembling and coaching offensive lines. Denver had a bottom 5 o line when he got there last year they had a top 10 o line.

Yes Sean Payton is not the greatest coach who has ever lived. Yes he is a good coach or was at one time. I kind of think his time has past though. I don’t think the Broncos will be any good this year. They will get worse. It’s usually supposed to go the other way. When a new coach gets the players he wants in the building it’s supposed to get better and I do t think the Broncos are going to get better. And Mike Thomlin is not Russell Wilson’s play caller. Thomlin calls the defense. Russ plays QB which is the offense. I like Russ but I’m a Bengals fan so I hope He crashes and burns in Pittsburg. I hope Pittsburg crashes and burns I like Russ on any non AFC North team. I think he played pretty well last year. Look At his stats. They aren’t just not that bad they are good. 26 tds.
