I think pink cellphone is pretty much there because the band wasn’t doing well at all during the making of this album, so they just kinda said “fuck it” and put a gross joke bit on there lol

There is another band with Chino Moreno called "††† (Crosses)" and I recommend you to listen their first selftitled album. It's quite similar to Deftones in terms of vibe or mood. Found them by playing NFS MW 2012 (Song "Telepathy") LUL.

One of my favorite albums, great video! I used to not like pink cellphone for a long time even though I'm a big fan of electronic and trip-hop music. However, it's grown on me over the years each time it gets to its turn on the track list. I don't think the album would be the same without it, but it wouldn't ruin my day if it was removed. Also, Riviere is the last track on the original version of this album. Drive is a cover song originally by The Cars and they added it to the end of this album on modern copies for some reason. Deftones have a cover album that's good if you want to check it out eventually

That’s really interesting that you liked pink cellphone, at first I liked the experimental part of it and was intrigued but the second half of the track really ruined it and was kinda disgusting haha

duuuude… you will absolutely LOVE self-titled. if you don’t like screamo, this album has some but there’s just something about it that just feels right. it might take some getting used to and relistening, but it just encapsulates deftones. what a self-titled album should be. oh, and also, you’ll love gore as well. can’t wait until you try some more deftones, with your taste it seems you might tend to enjoy newer deftones, idk about ohms tho.

Bro that last song is a cover from The Cars, big band back in the 80s, also the Pink Cellphone song is a criticism to catholicism and christianity, first talking about the fundamentals doctrines they use to manipulate people and the last verses to showcase their awful wrongdoings like child abuse and worse stuff

It makes sense that this song is so bad received by people because it is intended to be disgusting, just like the topic it touches, but also one can't deny that all the rest of the song is so very Radiohead level, it's trippy and profound, and then it gets too real

Thanks for the review. I'll be waiting for other Deftones review stuff if you decide to come back to it. Great album for sure, but Pink Cellphone throws it off completely, track feels empty and disgusting though. Wonder why they decided to even put it in there

@@Roots98 so happy you enjoyed it. Since you’ve already done DSOTM and wish you were here. You should check out animals. Very underrated album. One of there “big four”. I’d love to see what you think of it.
