They belong to the famous golden era in kpop along with girls generation, wonder girls, big bang etc. They were crazy popular back then. Due to some unfortunate scandals and jype making them leave korea in favour of conquering japan (and the rest of asia probably), koreans slept on them until youtube made my house viral again. I think they didn't make it as big as big bang because their sound is not as western friendly/what you hear in the mainstream. However, they produce pretty high quality music and also do not limit themselves when it comes to different genres (e.g. jazz, electro, future bass). I also think they have way more international fans than korean which is why people might perceive them as less known and popular but don't be fooled by it. The fandom is much more mature given that many hottest have been around more than 10 years, so no big wars and streaming craze you see with younger fans. In my opinion, they are still the hottest and best group among all producing top music.

They were big like they were called a super rookie group debuted as a acrobatic performance group. They won the best artist and best album in their first year of debuting. Then they debuted in Japan in 2011 and hit it big there like literally they're everywhere in Japan. They were the highest earners for JYP until they went hiatus in 2017 for military.

They were really huge in Korea during their 3 years after debut (2008) but after they debuted in Japan & become very successful..and gained a huge numbers of fans their company (jype) prioritize their promotion in Japan over Korea that's why a lot of Korean thought they were disbanded but in real they held a lot of successful concerts in Japan.. Hope you can check them out.. .... Actually they are one of the best kpop live performers...

I'd have to say Uneasy is my favourite. I got into k-dramas a couple of years ago, and came across Chansung. That threw me down the rabbit hole that is 2PM. I adore these guys.

Junho is my favorite artist. I first liked him as an actor. He sang a song for his drama, Just Between Lovers, and I was hooked. It was a beautiful soft love song that really moved me and I've been a fan ever since. So I started checking out 2pm...discovered JunK was considered the stronger singer but I just loved Junho's voice more. I also love his skills as a dancer. He's one of the best, if not the best, of 2pm. Liked him so much that I've got all his solo albums and concert videos. First time I ever bought concert videos of anyone. That's how much I appreciate his artistry. My favorite 2PM song prior to today's comeback is ADTOY. Great song...great dancing...great video...their comeback stages are pretty damn good too for ADTOY.

How I discovered 2pm is from K-Drama - I fell in love with member Jun-ho and was reading his bio and that he was in a K-Pop group. Then that was the end .. they became my favorite group. You have to really delve in and watch all their work .. there is no other like 2pm. The vocals.. dancing .. personalities... charisma.. authenticity. They are Fun and Versatile ! Talent - IT factor.

My bias is Woo Young. He’s the guys who’s imagining the scenes. He produced the song.

They debuted in 2008 and were hugely popular in Korea. Their songs are well known the the general public outside kpop fans. They then got shipped off to Japan, the second largest market behind the US. They capitalized on that market (they learned Japanese) and they are one of the most popular kpop groups there, having performed at Tokyo Dome (look it up) in 2012 and 2016. The essentially dropped out of the Korean public awareness because of that. Their song, My House, blew up last year, 5 years after it was released, and built massive excitement for this comeback. Wooyoung (the one who starts the video) wrote and produced the song - he’s my favorite. Incredible dancer. Taecyeon’ s name is pronounced like Tak-yawn, by the way. If you like rap, you should check out some of Jun. K’s solo work - he’s the oldest in the group and is basically amazing at all aspects of music. There’s a “Helpful Guide to 2PM” video here that’s worth a watch to get a sense of how huge they are. Glad you liked this song.

They are one of kpop artists that introduce kpop to the world. If you ask BTS or BP or Twice, who are their role model in kpop older generation, 2PM will be one of that lists. Cause, they are grwing up listening to their music, learn their choreo, etc.

Comparison to BTS is hard cause kpop was in different place when 2PM was big. Back in day they were one of biggest group along with Big Bang and Super Junior, and have still been the biggest earner in JYP.

It's "Teyk-yon" 😁 And their peak years were 2009-2011 and then got popular at Japan in the later years. They recently got popular again at 2020 and this year because of the resurface of their 2015 title track, "My House", where the korean public and the whole kpop industry (such as idols) got crazy over the song. This comeback was really anticipated by South Korea in general. ❤

@@PremierMusicTribe A lot actually. Their music is really good and their variety shows skill is also very good. They seems like a cool guy but all of them are a dork, just pure crazy on a variety show ^^. They are 1 of the arrow-heads in the K-pop industry to introduce it outside Korea.

US Music Industry does not let the Koreans penetrate the USA. BTS had perfect timing there was a void of a boy group. If 2pm came out when BTS did - they would be just as big. But because in S. Korea you have to do a mandatory service they were on a hiatus ... this is their comeback. I love BTS but only 2nd to 2pm. There was a 7th member member of 2pm Jay Park .. he will let you know how hard it is for Koreans to break the rapper world here in the USA ... So be fair and listen and watch all their works.

2pm is big , a macho type of KPOP. they have been NOT ACTIVE more then 3 years due to all member had to do Millitary service in different time on each member and just reunite complettly on this year.
