I also purchased the LUX TRAIL CF7. It arrived in Japan on July 24th, but there was a scratch on the head tube. It wasn't as bad as yours, but the packaging box was delivered upside down and there was only one of the black locks on the box. I haven't filed a complaint with Canyon because it was damaged during shipping, but the same thing happens.

Hi! I’m glad it wasn’t too bad, they need to figure out their packaging :/

Great clips of the Hydrocut trail system. . This is another place that is definitely on my list, especially with the single track trails being one-directional; which is a huge plus. While it is unfortunate about what happened to the frame, it's nice to see that they were willing to help out. I guess this example is, potentially, another pro in favor of an LBS. Thanks for sharing your time.

Hi there! I think the 34t chainring is too large for me as well. Did you manage to replace yours with a 32t one? Do you think a smaller 30t chainring would fit without problems?
@WhatTheTrail3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I did change it to a 32t and it is much better, I think the 30 would be too small for me, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be mounted.

@@WhatTheTrail Thanks for the reply. I worry the chain might rub on the chainstays.
@WhatTheTrail3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s a good point, I was just looking at a picture of my drivetrain with the new 32t and it seems it would still have room between the chain and the chainstay to use the 30t. I would suggest checking with a bike shop and see what they recommend. I would just add that the 30t would really reduce the speed/power you get out of the bike, unless you mostly ride uphill :)

@@WhatTheTrail Thanks! I've asked Canyon about it and I'm still waiting for an answer. You see the hills around my home in Greece are quite steep and I don't care much about top speed

Good 👍🏻 they offered some sort of compensation. You can always have the frame painted and it will be a thing of the past. Keep the videos coming and ride on!

Thanks! Yeah I’ll think about that, I hadn’t considered painting it.

@@leonwilson-brown7177 Thanks Leon!I have a little question, did you had to make adjustments on the derailleur?Greetings from Belgium!
@leonwilson-brown71773 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, I checked through everything and all was good, the only thing I needed to adjust was my rear brake calliper. All the gears and the dropper post were already synced, I downloaded the axs app and created a profile and added everything and it was straight forward. If you have any queries then please ask and I will try and help. I also converted to tubeless straightaway and the tyres sealed with no problems😃

Just a comment on the trail rating, as they Hydrocut is my home trails, yes the blacks are definitely over rated (more like blues) but there is a big jump in difficulty to the double blacks and their rating is very true. The double blacks there have mandatory large drops, jumps, and technical features with no ride arounds in most cases, so to anyone who hasn't been there before I wouldn't underestimate them.
@WhatTheTrail Жыл бұрын
Yes! Totally agree, I have not had the chance to ride the double black trails, I only tried to enter one of them and definitely worthy of the rating. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the video, I was considering the same bike. If you had to do it over again, would you still buy from Canyon or a brand from a local bike shop?
@WhatTheTrail3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think I would still buy Canyon for their price value offering. I find most brands are expensive for what they offer in terms of components. I might have leaned towards a Super Caliber if they had had the inventory.

If you ride the Don a lot I would really consider 30t chainring instead, you’ll become a climbing machine. Great videos!!

Thanks! I changed to a 32t and it has worked really well, not sure if I just got used to it but I feel 30t might be too small.
