Joseph McGill, founder of the Slave Dwelling Project, invited me to hearth cook for an event at Point of Honor Museum in Lynchburg, VA. I interpreted a day in the life of an enslaved cook. Come to find out I am the first black woman to cook in the kitchen since the 19th century.
