Lol your sarcasm was on point. Was great, thank you. So this song is based off the book "Demian" by Hermann Hesse (which is where the quote RM spoke during the interlude came from). In the most simplistic description ever, it's related to spiritual temptation. Good VS evil, if you will. It's deeper than that, but that's the basic inspiration anyway.

It's amazing and I suggest you watch them to really appreciate this particular video even more. Can I just say that I love your videos ❤ I came here because of Dimash and bts is my other obsession, lol 😂 And its great to see that you realizing the same things that I did when I got to know bts. I was into heavy metal and then one day I checked out bts and fell under their spell, suddenly I was waking up singing songs of this korean boyband and was just like what the hell is happening 😂 But they have helped me out of so many difficult times that it is unbelieveble that music can do that. Most important song for me because of my anxietys and depression is Sugas The last from his mix-tape. He did it with his rapper name Agust D. This MV has a lot of references from the book Demian by Hermann Hess. It's a book about coming of age and learning what is your Destiny, finding a god that is both the good god and the devil (Abraxas). The Bach piece playing at the begining, the Buxtehude organ piece that Suga plays, the quote RM says, the Nietzsche quote on the wall, the paint, they are all references. The concept is so cool! And Jin kissing the statue representing an angel with dark wings is probably a metaphor for him making a pact with the devil.

I definitely recommend you watch their dance practices. They are so in-sync and sharp, their transitions are fantastic, and their choreography is always interesting. They are amazing to watch, and as much as I love their MVs, I really love seeing the full choreography for their songs too. Fire and Danger are my favorites, but Blood Sweat and Tears is great too, and Spring Day. And SBS Performance practice. Just... all of them. :)

Since it's based on Herman Hesse's novel, Demien, (which RM was reading), that book flew off the shelves after the MV's release. The quote in the video is taken from the book and the book also features in the storyline. I'm sure you noted all the Biblical references in the video. (JK floating in the air was a representation of Icarus. ). Briefly, it's about growing into adulthood and facing temptation. It's iconic.
