It would be good content to watch you you doing the mechanical restoration of your tractor so it ran properly. I'm certain you could do the work the right way - like a machinist - if you buckled down.

That is a lethal looking cutter, please please please don’t mess about with the cutter head whilst the engines still running, it would only take for something to snap or slip and you would lose a hand, it was lovely to see Mr or Mrs Heron 😊

It's always interesting to see the kind of machines you have in your part of the world. I had not seen a mower like that before. My dad started with an old sickle bar mower. Later he got a small swather. Neither use a design like the one you used.

It's a disk mower like a lot of modern ones. It just doesn't have all the covers that a modern one has to stop rocks and other debris from flying everywhere.

This Soviet rotor cutter needs a bit more RPM and HP. T-40 is a little weak for it but it will work. One thing is if you use it put some wire screen on the back window and rear window. If something decides to become a flying projectile it will come to the glass and there is risk of serious injury. These things are know to kill or injure by standers with flying rocks. The Belts I would get all new most of these old belts don't last very long. There are grease fittings and one weak point is the bearings on the rotors themselves. As for the PTO clutch not engaging it might be its just worn or out of adjustment.

I don't think the power was the biggest issue but the tool is a bit big! The Wire screen would be smart idea or just to get a cover for it. The rocks flying around isn't the most fun! This one is far too worn out to repair. The gears inside are rattling and the bearings are completely done. It's not mine so I will not put any money into it. The case is welted shut so you can't even repair the internals. I am looking into getting my own cutter but a bit newer and with a cover!

@@Deividss Most of these 2 disc modern cutters don't need a wire screen on the tractor. Just a PVC screen on the cutting edge is enough. All the old schoolers I know used wire screens on the tractor cabin. These Soviet rotor cutters had a very bad reputation. You can find a more decent one still but most of these old rotor cutters are going to the furnace. You can't get any replacement parts and if its that worn no need to dump money into it. Just for fun using it one last time. That was a good call :) made for a excellent video.

I think it should be a little shorter. The base should be the same or even a little wider than the closet. It looks mismatched. Then you could place pretty baskets on top of closet to hold things.
