That harmonica was given to him from his father when Dan was just 8 years old. That and his voice training far exceed the needs for this song. He sings from his heart. That is a sign of a performer who enjoys his abilities and wants to share them. There nothing like it.

Dan shines through the whole song. He owns this song. Love the harmonica instead of bagpipes. It was very haunting. Dan is an amazing singer. I would say he is one of the best singers today. I don’t know why he is not an international superstar!!

I'll repeat what so many others have already said. Dan is phenomenal. His preferred genre is metal but he really can sing -anything- and make each song his own! If you think he reached high notes here, you should definitely check out some of his other work. Right now for high notes his cover of "Burn Butcher Burn" comes to mind There's a lot more 'metal' in that one, but even when he does the fry screams, somehow it's still singing and not screaming. Join the rest of us down here in the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. It's a journey you won't regret!

CLASSICAL? Dan Vasc may be the best Classicalally trained voice in the world today. React to his cover of Nessun Dorma. I saw Pavarotti preform this in Miami in 1986. No one else has driven me to tears over this aria since,,,,, Until now.

It's more than that. If you go back and watch and listen carefully, you'll see that he takes his final "inward" breath, just as he goes into the final, "...I see." Starting right there, when you time it, you'll find that he carries it to the "chin vibrato" end, at a full 25 seconds.

The harmonica was given to Dan, who was also a musician, at age 7. He passed away a few years ago from cancer. His favorite singer was Elvis and Dan did "An American Trilogy" as a tribute to him. Here's the link. Enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYfZhId8q5elj9U

Thank you for recognizing that last held note…so many don’t give it the credit it deserves. I think he could hold his breath under water for 10 minutes. THAT is an exceptionally trained voice by a gifted artist. He is a wonder to behold. If you watch him in podcasts, he’s also an exceptional, kind, philosophical human being.

Welcome to Vasc Nation. Dan's talent is truly incredible. He sings across all genres and never disappoints. He is also totally addictive! Please check out his rendition of 'Gethsemane' from 'Jesus Christ Super Star' I've seen it on stage three times and there's simply no comparison. He is classically trained and covers all sorts which makes him so interesting. All harmonies, which of course you'd realise, are him, e.g. Bohemian Rhapsody and Handel's Hallelujah Chorus (oh yes!). His studio is his garage, he does his own camera work, honestly I could go on and on. Btw, his father gave him the harmonica when he was younger, which he treasures. His father died a while back and 5 days after he did 'An American Trilogy' of Elvis songs, his dad loved Elvis! There are so many you can react to but the heaviest I've seen to date is 'Bring me to Life' Evanescence cover. Loved your reaction - please keep them coming . . .best wishes from a new subscriber!

Loved your reaction to Dan Vasc! He posted this video as a Happy Easter greeting this spring and he's received over 6 million views so far. This was my unexpected introduction to Dan's fantastic talent. He sings metal (of course) but also sings songs from Broadway musicals (Phantom of the Opera, The Greatest Showman, Jesus Christ Superstar), opera, and so much more. This musical journey has been a total delight. I'm excited to hear more of your reactions to Dan's music.

If you like the way Dan Vasc held that last note, your mind will be blown at the end of his cover of “Black Wind, Fire and Steel” where he keeps singing for I think 30 or 31 seconds, not just holding a single note which would be incredible enough…just watch. And time the seconds for yourself because that’s fun too.😊 (You’re welcome.)

Wow, you said it very well.... Dan Vasc will write "music history" on KZbin with this outstanding song, maybe even beyond. I rarely run out of words but in this case........❤️❤️ And the journey continues. Keep watching songs by Dan Vasc, you won't be able to stop being amazed 😜. He just took a lot of cover songs from great bands and singers to another level. Many metal parts such. B. From Lady Gaga "poker face", then again very classic "Phantom of the Opera", soft songs "you are loved" (Don't Give up). I could go on like this all the time now 😆. There really is something for every taste in music. Promised. I look forward to further reactions from you. 🤟

I have subscribed and hit the "All Notifications" button. You have my respect! I've only seen one other vocal coach that has even come close to how you perceived what went on throughout this lovely progression by Dan Vasc. The other one is "The Charismatic Voice." If the two of you were to get together and combine your two reactions, you would each fill in the few tiny points that the other hadn't seen, and the picture would be about as perfect (in my opinion) as it could get...on a technical basis. You even spoke of something that pretty much goes missing in just about every reaction I've seen yet (and that's well over 100, at this point). There have been a few who have seen it--or at least part of it. You spoke of the "journey" that has been portrayed in this video, and you are correct, though it's more than the "technical" journey of a great and powerful singer, showing off at least SOME of his capabilities in an ascending manner--even to the crescendo of triumph, back down through the decrescendo of final, enduring understanding and peace. The personal (Dan's), spiritual journey that is portrayed throughout this song, is really the key to the entire success of the song in its completeness...not JUST the techniques and well-learned and wonderful, superb vocal and presentational superiority that Dan reveals throughout. At the start of the song, Dan portrays the very beginnings of the realization that God's Grace is real, and quite amazing. belief in that grace, that has "only just begun." (Check out the old Carpenters song, "We've Only Just Begun," which speaks of "white lace and promises...") You noticed that as the next step occurs and the orchestration begins, his chin goes up, his "vocal security" begins to grow, and we see a slight appearance of vocal experience and strength. This also signifies the fact that his inward/spiritual journey has also begun to solidify, strengthen, and carry him onward. Then he moves up the octave, into what is pretty much into his "native" range, plus his stance has become even more firm, and his strength and stamina (both physical AND spiritual) become more firm. The harmonica (which I'm sure you've read about in the other comments by now) was (as you so astutely noticed--thank you) accompanied by that iconic "Celtic" drumbeat. What you missed, was that the sound Dan emits (on purpose) through that harmonic, is more-than-vaguely connected to the bagpipes that are often added during the song, when it is used in a funeral setting--especially if there is a military element entwined. Spiritually, this is Dan's last homage in his version of this song, to a funeral setting. I saw you watching his eyes, in the earlier parts, as he let them wander during the phrase, "...was lost," but then settled them resolutely for the phrase, "...I see." The important thing, throughout the remainder of the song, is that once the funeral setting has been "put to rest," appropriately, Dan enters "full submission" to the inner sight that has occurred. He only opens his physical eyes again, for a very short moment, once, throughout the rest of the song...yet he very STRONGLY and proudly declares, "...NOW I SEEEEEEEE!!!" Then he drops back down to the NEW quiet, yet very strong, peace in his soul (his mind, his will, and his emotions). He has come to grips with, and vocalizes his agreement with God's inner peace, that is so freely given. Then, as he regathers his strength, in the power of durability, not militancy, he begins to carry that last breath forward, with the addition of the personal triumph, "...I see.....AHAAAA!....." That entire phrase times out at 25 seconds. All of that said, I would LOVE to see you react to Dan and Luis Mariutti (you might want to look up Luis' origins before reacting) presenting the very simplistic yet triumphant "Black Wind, Power, and Steel." You might also want to check out the lyrics, at AZ Lyrics before reacting, and do NOT stop at the fade-to-black moment at the end of the music. It's very important to hear Dan's outros...especially in that one. Seriously. 😀

You are the first Professional singer\teacher\coach that I have seen to get as emotional as I did hearing this. Me a little more as I was weeping but, you get the concept. Being a 68 year old drummer\pianist with some Bass and Guitar over the years I wish (just me) that Vocal coaches would listen to the entire song first for the viewers and THEN go back and break down the song for the singers etc. It would add a few minutes to the vid but I believe you all would get more views and students. IMHO of course. Seeing that you are very emotional about your craft.. Subscribed! And thank you.

Then there's the last high note, that he holds strong & pure in a few of his songs, but the main one I recall is Til My Death from his Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom album with his band Fearless. Speaking of fearless in today's PC trying times, the Don't tread on me t-shirt says it all. So appropriate for this song!

I'm happy to see yet another vocal coach reaction - my nerdy (although non-musical) soul enjoys watching people who actually understand what he's doing - and how he's doing it - talk about what he's doing. Looking forward to more reactions from you. He has a wide range of videos out there to take your mind off the hurricanes and earthquakes!

Yours is the first reaction I've seen that points out the thumbnail on his video. From his face in the thumbnail you KNOW there's some metal coming eventually! I'm glad someone noticed that.

Your reaction was wonderful! 🥰 Dan has incredible talent. It's obvious he isn't 'random' carefully planning out his approach and delivery - - - and what a delivery 🎶🎶🎶🎶 Another of my favorites by Dan is his *I'll Make A Man Out Of You* from Disney's Mulan 🤪 Seriously amazing and so much personality 😉 Very balanced man. His father would be so proud. Please also have a look/listen to *Pour Some Sugar On Me* Def Leppard cover 😁 Dan shines at every level. Again thank you and I've subscribed. 🌺

Welcome to the magic known as Dan Vasc! I've been listening to him for three years now, since I first heard The Sound of Silence, and I love everything he's done. Reactions to all of his songs would be nice, especially the Era covers.

Most of Dan Vasc's songs aren't just fun to listen to; he always keeps us guessing, surprising us time and time again. You can never anticipate what's coming next because he has so many different choices to use his beautiful versatile voice. I suggest you this song: "I'll Make a Man Out of You" METAL COVER - Mulan. I am sending you the link because there is another one floating around with the same name for small children. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKSanqtpesycercsi=nE59VA7tK3rC_no- I'm sure you' will smile again.

So happy to hear your reaction to Dan Vasc! Loved your reaction and comments and subscribed. He is truly amazing with so many great performances - all so entertaining and good. He took lessons, taught briefly, and worked very hard to get so good. All he does is with intent and purpose. Check out his Gethsemane - the best I've ever seen of this song, and I've seen many. There are so many: Burn Butcher Burn (Witcher covers), Bring Me To Life, Bohemian Rhapsody, Handel's Messiah (He sings ALL the parts), A Kiss from A Rose, Battle Hymn, Last Ride of the Day, Sleeping Sun... Please do more Dan Vasc! Enjoy!

I loved your reaction. After watching his video over 100 times, I still get tears in my eyes. Dan is fluent in at least 3 languages and sings in many more. Adeste Fidelis is in Latin. Angels We Have Heard on High is in Italian, German, Portuguese and English with a Latin chorus. He also has a song in Japanese and another in Spanish.

I absolutely LOVE Dan's interpretation of this classic and beloved hymn!! He's got so much vocal and breath control! IMHO, he's the best tenor out there right now! The harmonica really gets me, too because my precious Granny played it beautifully. As I grew up we'd gather around the piano as a family, I'd play (and sing alto or 2nd soprano) and she'd play harmonica, while the rest of the family joined in. Priceless memories! I truly believe that all of Heaven stopped to listen when Dan sung this! God put him here to give people hope during these tumultuous times when there is so much fear, hatred, and despair in the world. Thank you for your opinion on this! I've heard this performed thousands of times throughout my lifetime and can say that he knocks it out of the ballpark!! No one even comes close to this performance!! ✝️ ❤️ 📖 🙏🏼 🕊 #AmazingLove #AmazingGrace #GodIsGood #forgiven #redeemed #JesusSaves #John316 #ForeverFamily #loveoneanother #bekind #bethelight #TheWorshipChannel #KingdomLiving #DanVasc #VascNation #DantheManVasc

Like many others, I've heard this song performed so many times, some very good, others passable, but many just plain painful. Daniel brings something completely different, unique and beautiful to the story. His vocal choices throughout are equally pleasing and surprising. When he opens that magnificent chest and just lets rip, all of the hours of dedicated and disciplined training come to the fore. The choice to include the harmonica I believe was a dedication to his father (he passed away a few years ago), who gifted him the instrument when he was about 7 years old. This young man can, and does, sing everything from full operatic arias, "Nessun Dorma" to Christmas tunes in operatic style and languages other than his native Brazilian Portuguese, to absolute metal, to 80s pop/rock, to show tunes from the likes of Disney. Each one is performed with a pure love of the music. Dan has collaborated with other performers, such as Orion's Reign and the Finnish metal band OD. He has his own metal band FEARLESS, with their full album 'The Chronicles Of Ancient Wisdom" on the channel and available through his website and streaming platforms. Some of my personal favourites in no particular order: "Dr Stein" - Helloween. "Dr Feelgood" - Motley Crue. "Breaking The Silence" - duet with Erik Gronwall, lead singer of H.E.A.T. and Skidrow "Rise" - H.E.A.T. "Black Wind Fire and Steel" - with Manowar bassist Luis Mariutti and his magical flying fingers... "Dawn Of A New Day" - performed with Fabio Leone from Rhapsody Of Fire. "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" - Disney's Mulan. "Bring Me To Life" - Evanescence "My Immortal" - Evanescence "Lithium" - Evanescence "An American Trilogy" - Elvis Presley, dedicated to the passing of Dan's father just 5 days prior,,,the emotions still so very raw... "You'll Be In My Heart" - Phil Collins from the Disney's version of Tarzan. "Phantom Of The Opera" & "Music Of The Night" - A.L.W's Phantom of the Opera. "Gethsemane" - ALW's Jesus Christ Superstar. "Kiss From A Rose" - Seal, a duet with Violet Orlandi. "Fairytale" - Shaman, a tribute to the passing of Brazilian metal maestro Andre Matos. Dan has a surprise in his video, "I Give Up Making Videos"... I'll not spoil it for you, but it's every bit as fabulous as all of the other work he has on his channel. I could go on, however, I should leave some for you to discover yourself... Dan has a very comprehensive catalogue of covers on his channel, and it is well worth spending some considerable time perusing the over 240 performances. Take a very long rope and enjoy the dive into the rabbit hole of Daniel Vasconcelos aka Dan Vasc...😁 🙃🐨🇦🇺
