First Time Drifting Formula Drift Japan!

For my first time drifting my car in Formula Drift Japan I had a ton of mechanical and electrical issues every lap and I was not able to drift very successfully. I tried my best but with no prior experience drifting the car in the dry, a new team, and no testing time, it did not go well. We will get the car working, get time to test it, and get me trusting the car. All I can do is keep trying and move forward.

I’d say it’s all experience / trail & error aside from the car issues. Was your first time in the dry with a gnarly car & track, gotta get the first nerve-racking laps out some how. I’m sure you’ll get after it next round 💯🤘only the beginning

Happy to see you out there competing! It’s easy for people to hate/make jokes, but they don’t understand you’ve only had a handful of laps in the car and are constantly battling issues. Just keep that positive attitude! Definitely get some more seat time in the car, bring it to Sunrise a couple times, get all the bugs worked out and make yourself comfortable. Also- just a suggestion, less foot cam (or have it off to the side of the screen) and lose the 360 camera inside the car. Put a GoPro in there instead and adjust the settings so we can see the track through the windshield. Add the 360 cam to the roof instead. Less cuts between cams while making runs would be cool too. Keep your head up! BTW shout out Phil, he tunes our cars as well

I think the reason why so many didn't score well is because everyone is use to drifting the inner part and not the outer part of corner 1. It also doesn't help that they made the track wider on turn 1 into the next clipping point. There's always next time. I really enjoyed the stream and was rooting for you

I was drifting with my friend today in his car and it was so good to be back on a track with him he hasn’t been able to afford to do it for the past few months but finally got back at it, he damaged his wheel though meaning the car needs fixed and also cracked his window screen 😂
