I love the kind of creepy vibe of Dune. Outlaw is such a crazy amazing album. Whichever song I am listening to is my favorite in that moment. I love supporting them financially, lol. It literally inspired me to move forward in my career. I have been wanting to, but Kpop comebacks gave me the push I needed.

I love that you mentioned the book "Dune" in relation to this. The nerd in me keeps saying "He who controls the spice controls the universe", since we've got this song title and our boys using peppers this time around. And there's ATEEZ nerd precedent -- the World EP 1 tour was "Fellowship" & that album has "The Ring" (last 2 lines are literally straight out of Tolkien, in English). So, that said, and before even watching beyond you mentioning the book... this song probably wrecks my world like no other on the album... Your face when San and Yeosang came in tells me you TOTALLY understand my dilemma -- I LOVE this song, but I feel shredded by the end of every listen 😂 The whole album is just amazing though, to the point that I love listening from start to finish and honestly can't pick a favorite song. Lyrical notes (since it's my first time seeing the translation) ~ -- referencing the pouring rain and sacrifice made feels like they're paying homage to the book, but maybe that's just me -- water going dry (Captain's rap) could be a desert reference, calling back to their roots while also fitting with book references -- why is it me? (Yeosang's part) sounds like a "chosen one" type of reference, which certainly fits the book Listening to the voices and seeing which parts were shown here, I think this person got them right. I didn't hear anything that didn't seem to fit. I cannot even tell you how I felt on my first listen through for this song. Like, I kept backing it up and asking myself "Is that who I think it is?!?!?!" 🤣 What you said about it being so surprising and out there, but yet fitting them so well -- I can't agree more. Never in a million years would I have expected what they gave us, even after hearing the teaser bits for each song; every track has blown me away repeatedly. You're going to love all of them, seriously.

thank you for the extra info! haven't read the book myself yet, so i appreciate the little details. that has to be so meaningful to you. i genuinely want to know who is responsible for the lotr ref because as a huge fan of the series most of my life, hearing the direct quote in the lyrics was a shock and delight in the best way possible. 🥺😭💚

@@AriaLark I grew up loving LotR as well. I read all the books (for fun, lol) by 6th grade, had a computer game based on it, etc. If they ever tell us who decided to use that part and do it that way, I'd love to know as well. I've made myself not look at the lyric translations for songs KM hasn't gotten to yet (except for things I've seen others react to already) so I can be "fresh" with my interpretation of them... so I'm looking forward to diving into "The Ring" when she gets there. When I referenced it before, I forgot for a minute that she had gone in order except for this comeback (and the few songs she heard before jumping to the beginning), so wasn't actually to the previous album yet. I was never as much of a Dune fan as I was of Tolkien's work, but I did like it and had read the book WAY back... I've seen the movies as well, and think they did a great job trying to bring such an incredible story to the big screen. The lyrics definitely do seem to line up with the idea of being in a desert, hard sacrifices to bring rain, knowing that they're the ones who can do what's necessary, etc. And of course the spice reference just seems too on the nose for it to be coincidence, imho. I love them calling out to the nerds in their fans this way.

you know i felt like yeosang said "why is it me?" because he was the only one who was stuck in another dimension before the cromer broke and he's in a sealed chamber rn which we saw in deja vu and say my name also (we also see him in chains in halazia which shows he's still not out of there) but then in bouncy they killed the mobile guardian so ig he's finally free now? i might be wrong.

Im back, AND YES THE SAN AND THE YEOSANG!!! they were amazing this song, also jongho this album is incredible and im really obbssesed with mingi's rap here!! AND HONGJOON JUST KILLING HIS PART EVERY SINGLE COMBACK? how is that even possible?! Honestly they all did AMAZING!!! ALSO WHEN YEOSANG AND JONGHO MIX VOICES!!!!! They sound amazing together!!!

I had listened to the teasers a lot, so based on what was teased, the 2 songs I was anticipating the most were DUNE & DJANGO. When the album was released, i didnt listen to the tracks in album order but rather in order of what my spoilt self wanted to listen to the most. I was alrdy blown away by THIS WORLD when I watched the live comeback showcase. So THIS WORLD & DUNE are in my top 3 favourites from this album. My #1 is actually the last song I listened to. It really punched me in the gut bc I wasn't expecting as much from it based from the teaser, "B* YOU THOUGHT". I mean i felt scandalised! How dare it be this good?!?! 😤 I love it! Looking forward to all the song reactions. This album, seriously 10++++/10. And I actually love alllll the B-sides more than Bouncy. 😂
