He also pretty much played everything on this album, "The Colour and the Shape" too. Bass was Nate but Dave re-recorded the drums secretly without the original drummer knowing (because Dave thought he could do a better job, which he clearly can) and obviously he did all the guitars and vocals. Taylor isnt playing on this record at all, he joined just after they finished recording. They've talked about it numerous times.

Dave's friends said she out does him on drums,so they challenged him. Dave invited her to come play on stage. He pulls people from the audience all the time. The videos are great. He talks smack to them. He's nice to girls though. Dave is an amazing person. He never forgets where he came from

The girl was Nandi Bushell. She's 11 years old and has her own YT channel where she plays amazing drum covers of popular songs. She's the one who challenged Dave to a drum off, and they did so over a few exchanged videos. They brought herr to LA to play the drums for this song, to close their show. She's an amazing child prodigy and she's going to be a powerhouse rocker when she gets older, assuming she chooses to continue to play drums. She also plays electric guitar and bass and keyboards. Her brother plays bass. Her dad plays electric guitar. Check out her channel.

If you want to check out some of the original songs, Big Me, Monkey Wrench, This is a Call, I'll Stick Around. Those are from the first self titled album that came out a little over a year after Kurt Cobain committed suicide and brought an abrupt end to the band. Pat Smear that was the 2nd guitarist for Nirvana near the end joined as well. They never talked about just getting a new singer because they thought it would just be a reincarnation of Nirvana, and Nirvana was Kurt's band there was no replacing him!

Dave Grohl (fellow Northern VA/DC suburb local!) was the drummer and harmonizing vocalist that breathed life into some of the best Nirvana vocal moments - after we lost Kurt, Dave took a couple years to come to terms then went in and created Foo Fighters and actually recorded all musical parts on this song and the whole album before creating the band - much of which is intact still - so he could tour it (around 1995 or 96?) and it became a true "band" from there on, live AND in the studio. You got to hand it to Dave and this band - in an era where pure rock and roll dissipated amidst all the different directions and we lacked one go to obvious 'Top Rock Band' - like maybe U2 in the 90s - Foo Fighters have been making smart nuanced anthem rock but written really well - Dave is a musical genius an icon being in one of the greatest bands ever as one of the 'other 2' not named Kurt but who were both legendary in the punk and post punk scene that led to Grunge - but who ever kne he had so many songs in his mind as he sat back and let Kurt do his thing and supported it as a SICK drummer and backing vocalist but never a song write for Nirvana. But Foo Fighters have so many great songs and darn near 10 I'd say are MEGA rock anthems that are worldwide - if you react to more I would predict you will both really enjoy them and appreciate it and also once again find you recognize. "Everlong" is one of the best rock songs of the past 30 years IMO but a good example of one you probably will know immediately - it is like part of our culture - is "Hero" - I'd wager big bucks you both recognize AND love that song. Check it out. Maybe called "My Hero" or "There Goes My Hero" I am not sure but that is because it is so widespread - for good reason it is a brilliant big rock anthem but has such a message to go with such a tune. Rep NOVA, rep Ukraine - rep all good people of the world and good music.

During the "quiet" part, this is what Grohl is saying... "So Dad would take the Sundays off, And that's the only time he could ever get any rest, And so, because we were loud on Sundays, He'd make us hold his construction boots over our head, till he'd sleep And they were really heavy boots And I'd used to say dad come on please And like start crying, cause they re too heavy."
