"Big Time" was another song off of this album that gets forgotten about. Also, "In Your Eyes" Live (Secret World) is pretty freakin amazing. And you may be familiar with the studio version of the song because it's been featured in a few movies and TV shows. *And, as I understand it, "live" videos are less likely to be blocked?

Peter does have a soulful voice. He was the lead singer of the progressive rock band Genesis in the 70s with Phil Collins as their drummer. Some of his solo stuff you should hear: "In Your Eyes", "Shock the Monkey" and "Games Without Frontiers ".

Peter is sometimes put in the "Art Rock" category, or "Progressive", and ha was the singer for Genesis before Phil Collins. Peter is his own genre, and he has so many amazing songs. Washing of the Water, Blood of Eden, Salisbury Hill, I Grieve, Mercy Street... it just goes on and on.

Great reaction! PG is amazing. You should check out his Secret Live video of the song "In Your Eyes," from the same LP. It was a massive hit, but on this particular tour he incorporated a bunch of well known African musicians like Papa Wemba, along with African percussionists, etc., and came up with a true World Music vibe and sound. The whole concert video is incredible with a really beautiful, positive vibe. Cheers!

Oh Peter Gabriel is absolutely amazing! That whole album is! He was the lead singer for Genesis and left for a solo career which went through the roof! Phil Collins was only on drums then…but took over the singing as well. They had some great songs and then went on to his massive solo career as well. Peter Gabriel’s voice is phenomenal in every way. Just started checking you guys out and it's nice to see and hear young people hearing some of the greats. I'm 65 now and I remember when I first heard Peter Gabriel was in 1969. He had a band called Genesis. The song was Watchers of the Sky. If you check it out you'll see a young Phil Collins playing the drums. Great song to dance to. Back in the 80s me and my homeboy Martin were like this🤞. Whenever you saw him you saw me. We were cruising in my 72 lowrider Chevy Nova drop to the ground. Whenever I picked him up he would always ask me to put this song on Sledgehammer. So it reminds me of him to this day. All we did was play pool, girls and clubbin'. He was from Fresno California and I was from LA. We met each other in Phoenix Arizona and when our favorite Club shutdown we kind of parted ways. This song is dedicated to Martin Hernandez

Secret World Live. In Your Eyes of course but anything from that concert video is spectacular. He makes what I would call “world music”. The only other mainstream band/ artist I’d classify that way is Dave Matthews Band, especially early albums. There’s so much going on it’s a total musical experience.

Peter was very instrumental back in the 80s with his opposition to apartheid in South Africa and has been involved with amnesty international with human rights around the world. Biko, Wallflower, No More Apartheid are several songs that deal specifically with these issues. Aside from that, just a great song writer with songs you can just jam out to such as this one

Salisbury Hill and Kiss the Frog are probably the most watched listened to songs from Peter...his pairing up with Kate Bush after he left Genesis brought out more musicality of him and his expression.
