They are a duo. These young men were so very talented. They each did solos in their performances.

Yes Jasmine, The Righteous Brothers have "G.O.A.T. STATUS!!!" They are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one of the best (if not the best) Duos/Duets of all-time!!!

As far as I feel.....YES they were absolutely the best duo of all time. There were many male duos in that day and time and no others ever, ever, ever have thrilled me like the Righteous Brothers 🥰

I agree 💯. However it seems to me that the Everly Brothers apparently get more recognition than the Righteous Brothers. Just the other day I saw a PBS special advertised for the EB. I was excitedly hopeful that they might also cover Bob & Bill, but not nope, as if the EB were sole representatives of the era. I'm going to write to them. Hopefully some others will do as well.

The Righteous Brothers are my favorite group. They were meticulous in their song selection, lyrics, and preparation. And they sang from their hearts. For them, the song was always the star of the show. They were humble perfectionists who saw their job as delivering the most honest, heartfelt product that they were capable of to their audience. The fact that so many people decades later still react so strongly from their hearts to the Righteous Brothers speaks volumes about how the sincerity went from the hearts of the Righteous Brothers to their audience. That depth of heartfelt sincerity cannot be faked.

Beautifully expressed. Bill Medley still performs in this way to this day, I saw his show last month. It’s very evident that everyone in his band loves him.

What can you say about the duo of Counter Tenor Bobby Hatfield and Baritone Bill Medley 'The Righteous Brothers.' Who bring it home in every song they sing. They were an anomaly back in the 60's. White guys who sang R&B/ Soul. They are more popular today than in their heyday of the 60's. Note: They are in the Guinness Books of World Records for having a song that is played more than any song on the radio "You've Lost That Loving Feeling." Brilliant!

I said it before...you're an old soul and that is such a compliment. I can picture you 60 years from now sharing wisdom & listening to the young'ns in your family who eagerly sit near you. Time & age means little when you have an insight to the best things in life. The Righteous Brothers are one of those best things. I first saw the Righteous Brothers in Indiana when I was 19 and the most recent time was 10 months ago in CA. You would have loved being there both times. I'm 77 so have been listening to their songs a long time. This amazing duo and their solos still are as awesome today as back in the early 60's. They'll cover a song but their voices are not only soulful..it's becomes theirs from the emotion they put into their vocals. Their very early R&B songs are on their Moonglow album like "Somethings Got Ahold of Me", "For Your Love", "Bring It On Home To Me, (also a b/w video of them singing that song with girls screaming on the Shindig TV show. Being regulars on that show from 1964-66 you'll find quite a few b/w videos of them. That's where Bobby sings "Summertime"). I 'm enjoying your reactions & how you back up a bit when you stop the video so we don't miss any parts of the songs.

Good commentary. I love the Moonglow Years, and "For Your Love" is my favorite Bobby Hatfield song. And I love Shindig, especially Bobby Hatfield's "My Prayer".

You know, four major performers covered a serious track, each did it justice. Lorraine Ellison, Bobby Hatfield (the high tenor of the Righteous Brothers), Janis Joplin and Bette Midler all covered "Stay With Me Baby." I submit that you try each version, see if you have a favorite, or put it to a vote. 😁☺️ This reaction was so timely and deeply appreciated, another younger dear friend just ended her journey, and her memorial service tore me to pieces. 54 is too young to end the journey. I'm grateful to have run into this gentle reaction, I guess I needed it in this day. 😥 Peace and stay well 😇🌹🕊️

They absolutely were and still are the best duo ever. For me, Bobby is and will always be my favorite singer, his voice was nothing short of magic. To me, he was the voice of the Righteous Brothers. If you haven't, you should listen to Bobbys "Stay With Me", " Love You For Sentimental Reasons", "For Your Love", "My Prayer", "Only You" and "I Need a Girl". There are so many more of his but you would never be wasting your time listening to anything Bobby has done! I also like the duo song "I'm So Lonely" and so many others.

"Stop playin' with me!" HAHAHAHAHAH. I lost it, but get it...most outstanding duo of the 1960's. There other duos, notably two British ones...Peter and Gordon, and Chad and Jeremy. Plus Soul singers Sam and Dave. You'll Never Walk Alone was a song from a musical "Carousel" in the 1950's.

Totally agree with you. Love the Righteous Brothers. Please, please, please listen to Eva Cassidy doing a live version of Over the Rainbow. Everything you feel about the Righteous Brothers will be felt with her. She did everything - R&B, blues, jazz, gospel and everything else in her own unique style. She had the voice of an angel which is appropriate since she is one now. I do believe you'll love her.
