I finally watched my first ever BTS video, as you can see from the video, I think I might have chosen the wrong song, please let me know any songs you think could suit me more, I really want to give them another try! ⭐️
Also Im so happy I finally listened to We Lost the Summer, such a BOP, I can't believe I actually cried.
What's your all times favorite song of TXT?
p.s. was actually a fun coincidence that both songs kinda got the same subtle theme of the quarantine and covid period.

BTS have a LOT of songs and genres, it’s difficult to judge artists with one song let alone a group like BTS with this many song and genres. To be frank a lot of people don’t like their 3 English songs (dynamite, butter, permission to dance) it was made more towards their fans during the pandemic and these 3 songs are more puppy and positive songs because everyone including BTS themselves were going through hard times at that time. Here are some of my favourite songs by BTS fake love, spring day, black swan, mic drop, save me and ON. I hope to see you check out more of their songs and then you can decide if you like them or not.

@@lunapigeon yes, BTS have more than 300 songs so sometimes u hit the wrong genre for u. I know u love rap so check out Mic Drop ft. Steve Aoki. Tear is very good too and ugh both live stages since no MVs.

Thanks for the reaction to BTS! Unlike other comments, i don't have that big of a problem with the song, it had to grow on me tho, but it is indeed one of the songs that are the most far from the numerous styles they have tried before. I really think the thing with PTD is that it can't show you not even a 1% of what the group can do, because 1. It is one of the very few songs where they didn't have any participation in (producing, writing, or composing) 2. The song was written by ed sheeran, so it very much has HIS style all over it. 3. It was released during the pandemic as a very light and easy-to-process song to help the fans cheer up (just like with their other two all-English songs, butter, and dynamite) in fact it was used as a song to end their concerts for one of their tours. 4. Since the song didn't have the member's input in it, they weren't allowed to rap, show the different vocal colors, and add the very fundamental part of BTS's success, which is deep and meaningful lyrics. I hope you can give them another chance, I saw people requesting Blood, sweat and tears, spring day, also black swan, and mic drop are good and very diverse options for you to check. And one more thing, cause I know it can be overwhelming since it is 10 years of a musical journey, but you don't have to rush, just try it and if you like them you can always ask for suggestions and doubts. 💜

As for On? The Kinetic Manifesto Film! Hmm...okay, the original is pretty great, too! It really depends on what one likes. The original is more "actual" video (though...honestly more of a short movie, cinematically-speaking). The Kinetic Manifesto version focuses more on the dance moves. So, if you love dance, go for the Kinetic version. If you prefer the "story" many videos tell, go for the original. Or...just do them both?

Thanks for reacting to BTS but Permission to Dance is definately not one of their best songs cause I think their best(ter) songs or those in Korean and Permission to Dance is a song for the ARMY to sheer them up during the Pandemic. BTS has so many good songs in Korean in so many different genres from old to new. One of their Iconic and classic songs you might like is "Blood Sweat & Tears" cause it has a lot of meaning/story behind it, has a mysterious/dark theme and beautiful styling/videography/artcy, You should check it out if you want to give BTS, still and will always be the biggest group in the World and TXT big brother, another try

I listen to Kpop because they are good at infusing different genres into Pop which are really unique to Kpop. But I understand as they made those songs to appeal to the mainstream English Pop listeners. Their Korean songs are top tiers. It's no big deal because people can choose which kind of song they like. Hello Luna 💜 Yeah, about BTS you pick the wrong song, not because the song is bad, it's just that the song was created to the end of the pandemic to cheer up the fandom and themselves. They have such a hard time in 2020 because they we're planning to go in a world tour before the military service, they we're ready for this but everything just go wrong (they talk about this in the FESTA Dinner 2022, very emotional). So I'm an ARMY and a MOA, the two groups have their own storyline in their music and the BTS one is very heartbreaking, they talk openly about mental health, the bad systems, social justice and they try to give positive messages about that, they even have a campaign called Love Myself with UNICEF and it was created with the series of albums Love Yourself Trilogy, all the sales we're giving to help adolescents around the world💜 I strongly recommend their songs in Korean, they have 450 songs (they produce and songwrite almost every one) So they have a large list of genres in their discography... Please take a look to Fake Love, Black Swan, Save Me, Spring Day, Butterfly and many more for strong messages For good performance and strong beat, Mic Drop, On, DNA, Idol, etc...

@@lunapigeon I know that feeling, I find BTS after the pandemic and my first FESTA (the celebration of their anniversary) was 2022, when they drop the notices that they we're taking time to do the military service... Can you imagine how I felt? hahsvdj but I'm so PROUD and grateful to be an army, because BTS help me so much with their music to lower my anxiety and anguish💜 Their lyrics are real and very relatable, the name of the group is BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), this mean Bulletproof Boy scout, because they wanted to be a shield for the adolescents in Korea, talking about the study and work system and the corruption of the government... They even we're in the "Black List" created for politics who wanted shut up all the artist who talked about the corruption of the government in 2014/2016. Now they are speakers of a whole generation, with speeches in the ONU, White House and being recognize by the Korean government in many areas. I know this seems overwhelming, they really have a discography that requires time and mindset, but also vulnerability, I find that so unique💜 My recommendation is to watch or listen the songs that I mentioned and watch the Guide To The Seven Member of BTS by Taylor ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqa5kKx_md2Nhrs ) to get to know them and their story from being a small group from a small company to be the huge group that their are now♥️

"We lost the summer" is one of my favourite TXT songs. But then again they have so many songs that I love... However, seeing you watching this made me really happy ❤ I really enjoy watching you falling in love with them every time. They are my number 1 group after all :-) But the group that got me into kpop was BTS. So here a few recommendations that I can give... I personally don't like "permission to dance" either. Out of their english songs I find "butter" the best but it still doesn't belong to my favourites of them. I really like for example "fake love" or "blood, sweat and tears", which have a deeper meaning. I personally think that they are much better with those kind of songs. Or their older songs, which go more in a hip hop direction (like "run" or "mic drop"). "Idol" also has a special place in my heart :-)

Permission To Dance isn't one of their most popular, trending songs, but people and army seem to forgotten that BTS came out with PTD during dark time when the world was on lockdown, people were very depressed, and giving up hope. So, again, not the best trending song, but very meaningful during a time people in the world needed some hope and happiness.

if you want something different, try checking out the songs magic shop and mikrokosmos, don't forget to turn on the subtitles, i feel that in the era of the song love yourself it really helped cure depression, the song magic shop and mikrokosmos give a deep feel. especially when performing live, the interaction between ARMY and BTS really feels real.. try to react if you want.. Permission to Dance doesn't have Spanish, it's an all English song. The first line is "it's the thought of being young, when your heart's just like a drum, beating louder with no way to guard it." Not sure what you were hearing but it wasn't Spanish lol. I understand not liking PTD, it's not my favorite either. However, BTS does all sorts of genres so you can probably find something you like. Please do give them another try. Personally I really like their song Magic Shop. It doesn't have a music video but it's got live performances which are just as good in my opinion. Some other favorites for me are Spring Day, On (please watch the Kinetic Manifesto Film) Fake Love, Mikrokosmos, and Dionysus. (The last two I mentioned do not have MVs either.) I appreciate that you were honest in your opinion 💜

TXT really looks up to BTS. They are basically TXT mentors (Big Brothers). This is a rabbit hole you NEED to go down. The guy that started the song and sang the runs that you liked just released his first solo song and it is breaking a lot of records. His name is JungKook and his title in the group is the Main Vocalist and one of the lead dancers. That doesn’t mean he js “the star”. They are ALL the stars. Seven incredibly different talent with hearts of gold. I specifically talked about JungKook here because of him just releasing his first song called SEVEN. These song you heard is different than their normal. I’m sorry you weren’t impressed. Dynamite, Permission to Dance and Butter were all done just to provide some uplifting music during COVID lockdowns. Please continue to check them out. Their story is very heartwarming and interesting. You should watch “Taylor’s Guide to BTS”. You will learn a lot and will not be disappointed. Most reactors are like, “Okay, I understand now why everyone loves them so much” after watching that video. 😊 it will help you understand why they wrote songs like Mic Drop, and where they were coming from. when it comes to BTS 'Permission to dance" isn't among their more iconic sounds, for a few reasons like its completely in english. So i would like to ask what your 'go to' genres or music types are? Because if PTD wasn't your style there might be a different song among the almost 300 songs BTS have released that you would like (the 300 is from Group & solo activities). Of course you don't have to listen to them, im just pointing out that BTS have a vast discography or music genere types under their belts, so there could be at least 1 song that you could really enjoy. On the topic of the pandemic BTS always aimed to encorage and cheer up ARMY, So for that topic i would go with Telepathy, Life Goes On or Blue and Grey. For the fictional story I Need U, Run, & Blood Sweat and Tears are some staples. Self love topics i would recommend Idol, & Fake Love, just to name a few

BTS's earliest tracks talk about the social injustices and pressures experienced by the youth and students of our time.

I arrived on your channel a little while ago, and I think you probably won't see this comment because this reaction is already 2 months old, but interesting facts about the Bts Mv is that this song, from what I saw armys saying, was to cheer up the fans who were having a hard time difficult with the pandemic, and what they wanted to say was that all this would pass and everything would be fine, and their dance and hand signs are in sign language and that to me is very representative and very cute on their part😊And about finding the song normal, it's because you're getting to know them now, but whoever has been a fan for a long time, this song hit them in a different way, because they didn't have any contact with their fans for 2 years, so a song like that for us , it was as if they told us "We know what you're going through, we know it's difficult, but it's going to be okay and we're here with you", understand for us fans this song was very special, you have to know the meaning for back like this it makes sense. BTS didn't actually write this song, they wanted to put out a feel good song in English to cheer listeners during covid. The impression you have is correct that BTS usually have much deeper and more personal lyrics. However every song BTS perform is always the best it can be. A BTS song they produced themselves during covid is called Life Goes On, I recommend you listen to it, I'm sure you will appreciate it.

Whenever I see people reacting to Permission to dance as their first BTS song I'm like "Oh no, they're going to get the wrong impression" I mean it's a feel good, generic western pop type of song and there's nothing wrong with that, but to me it somehow didn't sound like BTS the first time I heard it (I still think they have some type of filter over their voices because some members' distinct tone isn't as distinct 😅). Glad you gave their other stuff a chance and enjoyed Blood, Sweat & Tears 💖 As for TXT's We lost the summer, it was such a pleasant surprise you picked that song, it's one of my favourites from them, but don't see many people talk about it let alone react to it.

If you're a casual listener I'm guessing, and correct me if I'm wrong, you maybe haven't gotten into a ton of their other albums and b-sides, ones with amazing lyrics and messages and overall that just feel more like BTS to me. In fact, many people don't like some of BTS' English songs because their melodies and rhythms are simple and brainwashed, but only for the sake of global chart data. About their good music to listen to their Korean songs, Korean songs better reflect their musical quality and expression of the connotation of music, they have hundreds of songs, carrying a lot of different styles of music.I highly recommend about dope,mic drop,on,run,i need u, fake love,black swan,save me,house of cards,and so on If you're willing to get to know them, they have a lot of great songs and excellent stage performances, and they all have good personality,seven of them are all very genuine and interesting 💜💜💜

Permission to dance isn't the best representative song of Bts. It's an English song with a message. The one with Grey/blue hair you liked his voice is a rapper, his stage name is his stage name. The other one you liked a lot his voice, it's Jimin while the one in red is Kim Taehyung (stage name V) who has been the most handsome man in the world for the last 7 years. He is known to be so charismatic at stage.

Thanks for meeting BTS with this MV. But of course, this is not the half of it - not even 10%. But while I didn't like it at first it has grown on me - as it has on others. I actually have to consider this MV as a whole, not just as a vehicle for the song - I rather feel that the song is actually a bit of an excuse for the MV. Why should I do this? ... Well - - Suga, asked about whether Kpop would be an accurate definition of BTS' genre, said - ‘I’m a little bit wary of that but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be “integrated content”.’ … - ‘Kpop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach Kpop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.’ Metro 28 10 2919 So I approach this as "this integration of different content". The song is not BTS' usual vibe, but they have made it their own. It is a defiant cry for joy - and while it appeared at the end of the pandemic, that trial was not actually over yet, so the whole MV is a defiant cry of hope as well. This observation is not solely mine, but here goes. You'll note that all the non-BTS people are workers who kept things going during lockdown, they are all wearing masks, and they all pause as they realise it is nearly over. Apparently unlikely partners start to celebrate, and masks are thrown adrift - again with joy but also not a little defiance too. And you are right, those hand movements are indeed sign language - one sister reported that when she saw this her deaf sister wept with joy at being included in a MV like this. That section of the dance became a bit of a dance challenge and viral craze. Also - after the song ends, when the screen returns with BTS backed by an informal crowd ... those are all the production staff. If you look you will also see Bang Si Hyuk, the CEO of Hybe, giving it vibes with all his company there. Yes TxT and BTS are pretty much brothers - both under Big Hit and BH before it floated and became part of the huge Hybe Labels. They were their only two bands, with another older solo artist. BTS really took TxT under their wing in a sweet way. I saw a clip of an award show where BTS had their award(s), all the artists were on stage for the final shots, and (tradition I think) all the other artists left the stage for BTS. TxT, very much novices, were slinking away too, but BTS called to TxT, Hang on you guys, where are YOU going, and called them back to celebrate with them. TxT were so shy at that point, but so touched. They had of course all met before but this was touching. Two TxT members Seonjun and Taehyun, were on Suchwita, Suga's chat and drinking show a few weeks ago - they were lovely together - check it out. It is interesting that these two songs, seemingly randomly selected, do in some ways go together, both reflecting issues everyone was dealing with during and ending lockdown. Both should be proud. I know that you have now explored BTS more and have realised how unrepresentative PTD and the other English songs are - they were made for a purpose, and they fulfilled that, but BTS is much different and really are like big brothers to TxT.

honestly, i dont think theres a single kpop group that doesnt have skips imo. for example, my ult group is seventeen, but i certainly have songs that im really just not a fan of. But I do appreciate that theyre made, as in, im glad they can experiment with different genres. bts is another great example, love some of their songs, not so much with others. no worries if you dont like some songs! also, yeah, i dont recommend starting with any english kpop songs. they dont really speak english, so the songs usually end up being about the exact same things lol

I love PTD but is just a fun song. BTS music actually has meaning. Definitely check out more of their songs. Especially their live performances. No one can touch them especially live and that's the truth. The more you dive into BTS music and their personalities you will be army in no time . i see you've already gotten the army flood of comments. the american music industry said they wouldn't give bts radio play bc the songs were in korean, so bts gave them english songs to eliminate that excuse. they are still making up excuses to this day cuz they wanna maintain control of what we listen to in collusion with the award shows. the songs were simpler and less symbolic, unlike the korean songs/vids. ptd was prolly my least fav, even if it is melodically catchy. butter is much better. you're gonna find you like a lot of their music/vids without anyone needing to convince you. i'll give you some less common suggestions: dionysus, run bts, airplane pt2. have fun down the rabbit hole

I love both of these songs, though - as others have said - Permission to Dance did take some time to grow on me. Wasn't real fond of it at first, either. Though I did like the sign language at the end. It is "pure pop" - no substantial meaning, fun catchy beat, etc. I see you've done a lot of TXT, so I won't recommend any others by them.
