Its only cheaper cause its older ,Every Female say it smells Real Good that i wore front of, Some fragrance snobs like to insult it ,It was the first sweeter fragrance to come out to open the gate for other inspirations in its time, it was the top seductive fragrance then ,I still wear it Jeremy Frangrance still promotes respects it.

Also i think its a bit harsh in the opening, just wait some hours then it gets sweeter...talking about waiting a coupke of hours, the longevity is monster, wish other fragrances would be longlasting like this.. and me and my perfume buddys have gotten massive compliments for this one..

Joop is like a chameleon of fragrances. It smells sweet at first when it's still wet on the skin, but when it dries and mixes with the natural oils of your skin, then the fragrance profile changes to a more masculin spicy, musky, tobacco type deal, can't really explain it but the smell changes to something unique to each guy who wears it.

It's a very sweet and rich smelling cologne. It's almost like if you took versace the dreamer and added cinnamon and honey to it. It projects and lasts better than about 99% of other colognes. It's a classic.

Created by famed perfumer Michael Almairac you have to have had an original bottle of Eau De Parfume and not that cheap Marshall’s cologne. Since you really aren’t a nose your opinion really isn’t credible. As a perfumer I can assure you (youpe) the J is silent was a veritable sensation in 1989 when released. Therefore a vintage bottle of eau de parfum would be a collectible. Je vous aprie (you’re welcome)

I dont know who said its shit. but i dont really care about influencer opinions. it was a panty dropper, even in the mid 2000s when my clubbing time startet. joop homme, boss bottled, JPG, armani code were the scents to go when you went to club and you didnt want to go home alone! in germany most people still have a good opinion about it. they're just fed up with it ;)

I wore this in the late '80 & '90 too, as a daily scent (Dior Fahrenheit being the clubbing scent). It was better back then (like Fahrenheit) and much more beastmode (I'd guess 24h+), not just filling a room, but the whole house. But also much more aggressive, leaving really painful red burning spots when accidentally wearing it in the sun. With the most memorable time wearing it on the Spanish beach. 🤔😉

I wear it every day. My girlfriend absolutely loves it and gets me a bottle on my birthday or for Christmas. This scent has heritage for the youth of the late 90's early 2000's Britons. I personally double it up with Monotheme 'Verde d'Arancia', which is a citrus scented womans fragrance. The richness of JOOP combined with the fresh zest is a great combo 🙂

For my bro and I back in the 90s, it was kind of a wild card/joke of a fragrance. 🤭 Neither of us liked it, but something we smelled from time to time just to have a bit of a smile and laugh. Basically the fragrance that introduced us to candy in perfumery so that we could have some perspective on the market at the time. I suppose we considered it too feminine? Marketed like craaaaazy though. The older formulations have more florals. Pronounced "yope". Rhymes with nnnnnope. 😆

You can't apply Joop directly. Apply Joop extremely sparingly (less than half of ONE spray) to a cotton ball and tie it in a small plastic bag immediately. After about 5 mins, use that cotton ball to rub the fragrance all over your skin. Don't lose your nerve and add more, trust me, you are more than fine.

For vintage, it could be true. From my experience, you can’t overspray the new formulation even if you try to. It lasts 3-4 hours on my skin with medium projection

greetings , i will compliment you because of your honesty and balance... i am 51. this is not the same as its original . even the enunciation of the name, back then it was as popular as a modern Savauge, it wasnt floral and the cinammon was more of an offset than a main chord , and as for the name , some called it joop/jupe , others called it Yope ! but its definity not the same formula,,,as it wouldnt have been labeled unisex back then, nice work Erica

You can find 6 Oz on clearance for $25-30 if you’re patient. I dilute mine down with polyglycol and couple drops of alcohol and let it steep. And it’s not bad at all after that. It still last a long time. Just not as strong. It has every note imaginable. Crazy. And Obsession is nothing but souped up old spice. That was a popular gift in the mid 80s. That was it. Just a Marketing attempt. Had so many un opened bottles of old spice and brut I just re gifted them.

I'm not an expert but I normally pronounce it like hope with a y, yope. I bought it for the same reason you did, everyone said it was so bad, I wanted to see for myself. After spraying it in the air, I immediately recognized it from clubbing days. I actually really like it. It's fun, playful and the dry down on skin is very nice. Sorry all you Joop haters, I think it's great. And although it doesn't smell anything like the original, Joop Homme Ice is really very good, I wear Ice all the time.

Joop! is a scent that's a bit outdated when you have dozens of Xirjofs, parfums de marly's and Tom Fords etc etc sitting on the shelf. I mean fragrances in that price range.
