I'm glad you enjoyed the train. Did you see the cherrywood, (I saw them when you were walking) that's the newer cars. You should tell the people: 1. When you get a sleeper car, your food(lunch, breakfast & dinner) is included + I think you get 1 alcoholic drink. (They do have alcoholic drinks on the train) 2. You have an attendant to make your bed down or up in the morning. 3. Next time bring some snacks so you don't have to pay for them. Lol!! I don't know how you slept in those chairs. I did it one time and my back was killing me. So now after that 1 mistake I have the attendant make the chair into a bed. The funny thing is if you ride in the coach car, the seats are EXTREMELY comfortable. You can almost turn it into a bed. You can recline the chair way back (not like on a plane where you are in the other person's lap- b/c its plenty of space) plus there is a leg lift also (like a recliner). Riding coach is cheaper BUT you get everyone else too and their screaming babies & children. Lol!! I can do coach down to Miami but coming back I need my quiet time. When I want to hear any noise I just close the curtain to the door but keep the door open, so I can get fresh air & hear some type of noise. I would love to go to Chicago, or take the train from Chicago down to Texas (Texas Eagle) but I would have to figure out the logistics of a hotel stay & would I want to come back the same way or fly back & I don't like flying. Enjoyed the video. Do you watch the train videos?

Thank you! I pinned your comment because yes this is valuable information to know when booking a roomette. I did later that night got up and turned the chairs into a bed. Because my back was killing me. LOL Im really thinking about taking it to Seattle for groupcation and flying back. I appreciate you for taking the time out and writing this message. 😎
@sswan96899 ай бұрын
@@DConDemand You might considering taking the train back AFTER groupcation. I say this only b/c those trains are persnickity Lol!! Trains run late and that train I think in particular run extremely late. You wouldn't want to miss groupcation b/c of some bs about the train running late, derailed, a cow on the track or whatever. Lol!!

I started riding Amtrak long distance last year and fell in love with it. I think i did 4 trips and 10,000+ miles in 2023 all departing from Tampa. Starting 2024 off next week headed to New York, then Boston and off to Portland Maine then back. And you said next time you want to bring someone along. Me? I love the solitude especially in the roomette.

I love traveling on the train. Yes, it's slow, but it allows you to really relax, take in the scenery and slow yourself down. Everything in life, don't have to be fast!!! Thanks for sharing DC 🫶💪

I like driving, but i love when someone else is driving so i can look out the window and just take in nature. I'm glad you enjoyed it

Hey Dante, I miss yal. What a cute cameo appearance of JBoogie 🥰🤗. This was a great video. This was great our and a real thorough room tour. The ride really looked peaceful. Howard and I have definitely done the train for travel. I've had to catch the MARC train to and from my job in the past, and now I'm doing it again. I'm on a double decker train daily. We almost took the train last year when the airlines were tripping. Anywho, I truly enjoyed the ride along! Thank you for sharing. 🥰🙋🏽♀️ Have a wonderful week!

Hey Miss Etta, I miss you too, but I understand. the ride really was peaceful I just wish I had someone else there to keep me company but I enjoyed every minute of it and can’t wait to do it again. Hope to see you soon in the chat or in person. Tell uncle Howard hello. 😎💙

How fun is this! Anytime we travel along the east coast we travel via Amtrak in a sleeper. Christian got train sets throughout his childhood too! Question: did Miami have a first class lounge? If so, you should’ve been in there waiting for the train. GREAT VIDEO!! ~ Inge 😸

You are absolutely right it can be expensive to do train vacations but I believe it’s worth it because of what you getting in the package. Like your food, your drinks, your hotel stay in different states and so on… I will also look into that.

The newer roommettes (cars) do not have the toilet in the room. You can go down the hall and use but it's extremely tight.
