The natives before Columbus called El Salvador.."Cuzcatlán" which roughly means "land of precious things" or "land of treasures". Very small in area but so unique. And in modern times travelers started calling El Salvador "the country of the smile"...."el país de la sonrisa". Because of the generosity and warmth of the people.
