Good to see real beginners! More realistic than watching a pro and finding out the hard way. Looking hard at this one.

Great job guys! I’m a beginner Aeroscout pilot myself so watching this encourages me. I have flown mine about 7 times now with one bad landing in the grass which caused damage similar to yours. However crashing a little is part of the learning process as is repairing damage I’ve found out. Literally ALL of the other RC plane people I’ve met have done the same… even after years of experience! BTW… You should join an RC airplane club near you and meet up with the other flyers there. I have found them to be very nice people and they will help you learn.

Absolutely loved my areoscout. I miss it still. It’s a great lil plane. I started flying two years ago, and have 27 planes and jets now lol. Stick with it. It’s an awesome hobby

I tore up an Areoscout by flying too low like you. Once I figured out that I needed to climb higher and fly at that higher altitude, all went much better. Practice with plenty of room beneath the plane to recover from your mistakes. Learn to fly and save your plane by flying higher.

Good job for first flights ! When I was younger, my kids liked to go with my father and I when we flew. After a while they DIDN'T want to come along. We found out it was the crashes that they liked !!! 🙂

Clear packing tape works wonders. If you need some structure a little hot glue works wonders. I landed hard on the front wheel, and it pushed the servo through the foam. I glued all the pieces back in place and added a bit more for longevity. It's holding up just fine.

If ya don’t crash ya ain’t flying! Everyone does it sooner or later. My first flight I ended up in a tree.😊

It's really nice that the propeller is behind the wings as one of the first things to get damaged is usually the propeller. It looks to me to be the most idiot proof RC trainer. (Myself included!) I got into RC flying years ago and then hung it up after a whole series of crashed ruined my confidence. I'm seriously considering buying this and getting back into the hobby after seeing this airplane!

I’m sorry you head butted the goal post, save those manoeuvres for a ball from now on lol 😆 but seriously it sucks when it’s your brand new plane on its maiden flight. I’m sure by now you have sorted out the damage, but if you’re ever in that position again you can also incorporate a piece of wooden toothpick to good effect, drill a pilot hole from the outside through both sides, slowly and using a new micro bit like you can use with the dremel, then either hot glue or foam safe medium China glue on both surfaces and also on the wooden piece. Push the wood in and sink it just below the surface by pushing it in with the flat end of another toothpick. Let it all set fully and finish by putting a dab of liquid foam over the micro hole. Jobs a good un. Any dints can be lifted by heat, there are various videos on here showing several methods of doing that. Your plane should be as strong as when new. Sorry if I’m not so good at explaining it as I am at doing it. Regards Dave

You guys did good. On the maiden of my AeroScout I managed to "land" her in a tree. I would consider myself an intermediate RC pilot but being 78 years old my depth perception isn't what it used to be. 😢

78 and flying RC, wow! Being only 14 and getting into RC flying, its rather fascinating seeing people your age fly. I wish you the best in life and fly safe.

zap CA glue will fix that crack in a minute Elmers wont hold foam as strong if at all. Start at the center of the field so you have equal room on all sides of the field. A flight simulator for your PC will make real flights more relaxing. 😁

I’m so jealous of what you got. I’m a radio control pilot for 8+ years. I have a KZbin channel and I have flown a new airplane I got from some family friends as a grad gift.

that was awesome and very helpful. I haven't bought my first plane yet. would you suggest a virtual flight simulator first? I'm debating between that plane and the Apprentice S.

Please be careful how you carry/hold that plane. Your hand is dangerously close to the prop if it were to suddenly start up on you. You don’t want to lose your fingers.

Also, there’s a ‘safety’ prop disengage on the right side of the controller for when your holding the plane while it’s powered

"Last time it looked good" -- Never say anything of the sort or something like "this'll be my last flight" since it'll guarantee you'll crash. Coming from a superstitious RC pilot haha -- Hope you all have fun with the hobby! Crashing is just a part of it.
