I’ve been watching for a year. Got interested in your channel because of the crash compilations. Then I started learning from your videos. I remember you building one with a guy, I think he is a teacher maybe in East Texas, as he took you through the steps including Beta Flight. Then I watched you fly your build on the football field when you forgot the antenna. Dude…you have really gotten good at FPV! Did you build that one in the video and do you repair it? Do you have a couple builds? This is such a fun video. I was going to say I was jealous but it’s a lot of practice, patience and work to get where you are. You have given me the encouragement to get back in the sim. I currently have the DRL sim. You are showing people how much fun it is. I wish they knew how much skill and practice it takes to get where you are. Great job Ken and you have rekindled the spark.

You can really tell who's going home daydreaming about having their own vs. not so much. The born flyhards are super easy to spot. I myself don't think I'd do absolutely great just being along for the ride because I do get VR motion sickness really easily, but I'd for sure be wanting to grab those sticks. Been out of the FPV loop for a few years now, and I'm frankly dying to get back in the air. I was born for it.

Ive been flying FPV for 7 years, but i still get motion sick playjng alot of VR games. The problem for me is unnatural movement in VR, and I dont have any issues with FPV, but i do still get the heart racing when i dive off the top of a building, or fly up a creek, or bounce of of concrete 🙌

Great job Ken! Telling my age here. When I was a young boy we had a very small airport very near my house. About twice a year three or four of the local pilots would gather and do discovery flights for the locals in the area. Believe it or not it was called "penny a pound flights". And they had a bathroom scale at the sign up desk. You literally got weighed and paid what you weighed to go up on a quick tour of the town from the air. I was hooked and spent most of my summer weekend days at the field. (Most pilots only flew for pleasure flights on weekends) I would pedal out to the airport and hang around the gas pump and little office and generally get in 2-3 flights each day I went for free. That is something you could never do these days with the politically correct crowd. About age 14 I was able to start my ground school and by age 17 had my pilots license. I started flying R/C Helicopters in Japan while serving in the Corps in the mid 80's and have been flying R/C now ever since from fixed wing to now 7 years in Quads....Way to get the young crowd interested, Just in time for the guberment to shut it down for us all it seems. Great video!!!

I'm a new pilot - recently got a Mini 3 Pro and have been enjoying it, but watching the FPV (freestyle) on this and other YT channels instantly drew me in. My next goal is to learn to fly acro on a Mobula8 with O3 Air Unit. I've been spending time in sims (mostly DCL, some Velocidrone) and am having fun learning -- although sometimes it's more painful than others. I'm flying the sims with the Zorro ELRS which I plan to fly with the Mobula8. Knowing I also would want to fly the Mini 3 Pro in FPV, too, I got the Goggles 2 and Motion 2. I took them with the Mini 3 Pro out flying last night and wow - what a blast!! The Goggles 2 worked great for me (notably the easy focus and IPD tuning) and the Motion 2 felt so intuitive - flying in FPV for the first time with these felt so free and in control. I imagine the Motion controller won't be useful outside of my M3P, but it was a lot of fun to just pick up and rip around a nearby school's track and sports fields. I just wish I would have hit record or I could enable record on takeoff 😛 I'm excited to learn all of the next things.

Now that's how we educate them. Take them up. It really is a life changing experience for most people. I hope more pilots offer this kind opportunity to the public. Just think about it. We are creating allies to push back against Karens and the negative media narratives. We should also take up police officers, city council members and government officials. This would be way better than a spoken presentation. Let them experience it. Brilliant idea Ken.

I'd be more interested in an FPV drone if they had stereoscopic cameras and headset. It'd be pretty interesting for people to watch my drone videos on a VR headset and see the aerial footage just as if they were a passenger of the drone itself.
@Fly_High_FPV Жыл бұрын
There are a few steroscopic analog fpv systems, but they've never been popular due to the increased cost and complication. For example a decent analog cam is $25-45, but the stereo cam system was $200, and needed a special video receiver to capture both signals. I'd love to try one. Head Trackers are also few n far between, but significantly more than stereo systems. Pretty cool to be able to look around, like VR, but disorienting. Works great for planes

I ended up buying one after a coworker of mine showed me what they do. Went with the dji avata. Later found out another coworker of mine has been flying rc planes and drones since he was a little kid so he is an expert when it comes to drones and building them. He put me on a good long range drone with crazy flight times. So I went with the chimera 7 6s V2 HD pro with the 8000mAh 6s Li-ion battery complete with the O3 air unit and tbs crossfire coupled with a radiomaster tx16s Mk2 with the tbs crossfire long range RC transmitter and 2s 6200mAh li-ion battery for it. Last but no least got the dji goggles v2 to get the best quality. I am still clueless on how to operate this whole thing but my coworker was saying that should save me a lot of spending if I get into drones. So here I am learning as I go.
