Linda Perry has written so many good songs. Shes written songs for Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilara, Courtney Love, Pink, Adele, Alicia Keys, on and on. This was her band's one hit wonder but she went on to make other singers famous with her songwriting.

The 2nd single from their only album, released 30 years ago, in 1993. It was their biggest song. Yes , Linda Perry is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Linda left the band in '94, and the band broke up not long after that.

That's Linda Perry. I only knew 3 songs of hers this one.. Spaceman..and Morphine and Chocolate(r my only friends) Then i didn't hear about her tool i watched a doc about PINK and how Linda Perry mentored her and the writing of her first album. Yeah Pink. This was 4 Non Blondes one-hit-wonder, but Linda Perry was a great songwriter and producer. When this came out, I was in a relationship (don't ask) with a gal that really never expressed much of an appreciation for music, but she did express she really liked it. I had no idea Dolly covered, but now looking forward to listening to it.

This may have been a one hit wonder, but what a hit! It's a truly great song that beautifully showcases Linda's incredible voice. This song was something of an anthem in the early 90's. This is just a great great song. Love it!

1992-1997 was a musical island, very different than anything before or after. The music was more introspective and to some extent self loathing, but it was a vibe. It was time for Hair Metal to die.

I love seeing you discover this track as it’s one of those songs I absolutely love that I often find myself singing at random and I feel the world has largely forgotten about. I’ve no idea if it’s their original or a cover - I’ve only ever known this version and to me it’s close to perfection. ;)

Correct,its a young Linda PerryAnd double yes,Linda Perry joined Dolly Parton on her version of the song. If you search for "Dolly Parton - What's Up? ft. Linda Perry" you will both see the official music video on YT and the official audio release as well. (Where she also plays the guitar,just to clarify) All of theyr songs are great,i really like Spaceman to name at least 1.

OK, just I don't know if this has been covered in any comments. But I'm gonna do it here. The woman in this band singing lead is Linda Perry. Most people consider her the leader of the 4 non blinds, although originally there were 4 women and they were not blind. They were green ATS or black hair and then. They were known as 4 non blondes about the league guitarist quit, and so they hired another person. Which happens to be a guy that person playing the league guitar that you saw as a man. And and they also had to replace the original drummer, but one of the things about these young ladies are as everyone and more lesbians.

This is not a "version" - Dolly's is - this is the original. When you have this many questions you should do a little research, maybe. It is generally easy to make a guitar sound like that in the original unless it is a solo by a master.
