Ahhh...early ABBA...they're so fresh and "with the times", this song is exactly what the early 1970's were about musically ...very folky and relatable to the core.

So nice to see you again in our ABBA Journay "Another town, another train" so nice and lovely song, from the first álbum "Ring Ring" (1973) when They called themself: "Björn & Benny ; Agnetha & Frida" Björn did a beautifull lead voice and Agnetha & Frida gives a fantastic harmonies in the chorus I think is the same style as the future worldwide hit "Fernando" in 1976 the "Ring Ring" album have a great A-side, and Another town Another train is a good one, 7pts to me These first album must be analyzed as a Björn & Benny duet proyect, with the ladies Agnetha & Frida as guest artists invited; that's why there more songs with Björn (or Björn & Benny) in leads voice than the girls All these will we different after ABBA's triumph at Eurovisionin UK 1974 with their smash hit "Waterloo" I see you in next ABBA reaction GOD bless you and stay safe best regards from Buenos Aires , Argentina South América

Tyler and Marissa nailed it with two important points. As Marissa said, this song is so "relaxing". Everything about the overall sound is truly relaxing. Tyler makes the point of the mix of an upbeat sound with with a more troubled tale. So many of ABBA's songs are amazingly a mix of joy and melancholy. And it sometimes takes multiple listens to pick up on it. Thank you so much for reacting to this early ABBA gem!!😊🚂😊

The fine art of ABBA, taking a sad theme and color it in a relaxing, upbeat sound. It's totally 70's, when people knew that relations can go wrong, but didn't get traumatized over it for life. Most importantly, the end doesn't have to come with hysterical fits,but can role along in a civilized manner. Sometimes, it's just fate happening, or in a modern term, karma.

Can't believe you haven't done Ring Ring yet ☎️. Thanks for Tyler's mucho enthusiasm in this reaction - I thought he was about to explode with excitement at one point (either that or he was suppressing a sneeze). PS I like all the songs on this album but Ring Ring is the most obvious one you haven't done yet - another favourite is Nina Pretty Ballerina (one of the happiest melodies of any ABBA song).
@nickchristoforou78502 жыл бұрын
If they do "Ring Ring" they should listen to the original clip, not the remixed version with the sax. The song is much better without the sax (thought I love the instrument elsewhere, it's just overbearing in the remix for this song).
@medmon34762 жыл бұрын
@@nickchristoforou7850 when I watched the video of Ring Ring in the last year or so I heard the sax and thought to myself 'I could've sworn that that sax wasn't there or wasn't as prominent in the original song ' and now the mystery's been solved. Yeah it's better off without it - definitely - but I don't hold up high hopes that Tyler and Marissa will know which is the original video when they decide to react to it but that's Ok.

This is the bands debut album Ring Ring (1972) the four is already established solo artists in Sweden before they form abba. Other notable songs from their debut LP were: people need love (the very first abba song), he is your brother, disillusion (the only abba record which Agnetha solely wrote) and the title track Ring Ring. I also have a sweet spot for the song love isn't easy but it's sure is hard enough. Go check them out next time.

ABBA in their "Fest Folk" style I suppose. This song is definately a fan favourite over the years. It could be argued that the 'flute' keyboard hook is the inspiration for the piano melody of "Clocks" by Coldplay. The syncopation or "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2" rhythm is similar at the very least.

You should listen to Agnetha’s self written song off the same Ring Ring album, Disillusion , and compare it to her solo version of the same song written by her in Swedish, “Mina Ogen”. The English version is rather spare, sweet and tender while her Swedish version is more produced with strings and a much more powerful vocal. At times she really belts it out and the power in her voice is surprising because we rarely ever hear that in the Abba songs. At the heart of it all is a very well written song and an extremely good vocal. Here is a link to the Swedish version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZKviqaFpbp9p7c
