I'm so happy to see you again with ABBA songs and Your lovely reaction "Fernando" (1976) is slowly, and beautiful The best is the beauty of their vocal harmonies, with great solo intro by Frida, very soft at the whisper level but at a level of perfection ABBA had already recorded "Dancing Queen" and it came from the success of "Mamma Mía" It was the manager who convinced Them to record "Fernando" so as not to repeat the style (the brunette Frida had done it the year before on her solo album in Swedish, with other lyrics, and it was a big success) The manager was right and everything was a great success, one after another in 1976, that gives ABBA three #1 consecutives in UK: Mamma Mía ; Fernando ; Dancing Queen "Fernando" was a colossal success in Australia (14 weeks #1 surpassed the BEATLES with "Hey Jude") and #1 in U.S. Adult Contemporary "Fernando" is the ABBA second greatest worldwide (only behind Dancing Queen) and sell more than 10 millions singles all over the world now I give You more suggestion of classics, greatest songs and #1 in UK, for a next reaction to ABBA: Mamma Mia Knowing me knowing you The name of the game Super Trouper but if You want to see "Hidden Gems Forgotten" there's a lot of another greatest songs: "I've been waiting for you" (1975) "Thank you for the music" (1977) "If it wasn't for the nights" (1979) I see you in the next video A cordial greeting to You with all affection from Buenos Aires Argentina

It makes me happy to see you, a rather young person, beeing so moved, and happy, listening to Abba. Even the sad songs makes one happy because it's such good melodies, so unique "Abbaistic" production and often good and universal lyrics that everybody can relate to. And of course: if you see the videos you can't help fall in love with these goodess-like ladies.... Especially Agnetha has an ability to create a feeling that she is singing directly to you, to your soul. Her face makes everything extra-real! She opens a channel to imagined corresponding feelings. When I was a kid (I live in Sweden) Agnetha often were in my neighbourhood because her parents lived there. She had kind of a problem with all the kids surrounding her when she was out for a walk with her little daughter Linda. Sunglasses could'nt hide her.... or a hat drawn down to the eyebrows. We always recognized her. Even from the classroom window - and vrooom! All kids left the classroom and ran out to just surround her. Poor, beautiful Agnetha who just wanted to be left alone! At the end her parents had to remove the doorbell...

Thx ! The audience for their music has been conquering the United States for about two years on streaming platforms, KZbin, spotify... It's good, abba have particulars like: the diversity of musical genres, vocal backing, sad songs, melancholic disguised, with fast rhythms, pop to capture the greatest number, and now after five decades, some of their titles are timeless, intergenerational, on all continents, teenagers, their parents and grandparents can together take the pleasure of vibrating in communion on the same music. It's not ordinary!

They wrote is for Fida as a single. It never blipped the charts. They repackaged it. Added as ABBA. Pretty much the same lead vocal it was number one world while for a while. In Australia it broke the Beatles record for the longest time at number one. I believe it was 14 weeks. So, 3 1/2 months at number one. Same song as a single there never even smelled the charts. Weird being it was pretty much the same song.

The swedish version was a huge success in Sweden. It wasn't in the official single charts only because it was never released as a single but it was in the "Svensktoppen radio-charts" for nine weeks. People who wanted to have this song had to buy the "Frida Ensam" album and so the album was at no. 1 in the album charts for six weeks (overall the album was in the charts for 38 weeks) just because of Fernando (Source: Carl Magnus Palm - Bright Lights, Dark Shadows).
