Huge fan of Al Di Meola since the Return to Forever days in the 70s. Saw him in Seattle a few years back in a small club. It was amazing. Check out Race with the devil on a Spanish Highway!

Hi guys. So I first found AL back in the early 80's and loved his music since. I saw him live back then at the Greek Theater at U.C. Berkeley.i am not a musician but I have always been able to separate individual instruments during a performance which, I think, allows me to enjoy the whole. This is also an artist that you put on some Sunday while puttering about and let play through. Glad you liked it!

Di Meola read sheet music when he soloed. I've watched him play this song on other occasions and he didn't read any sheet music. It could be that he wanted the solo to sound just right, because the concert was recorded. It is hard to get some solos just right every time.

I've been listening to Al Dimeola since the 70's. You should dig into the Return to Forever catalogue. Don't know if it is something for video reactions but if you like this RTF is one of the greatest fusion groups ever. Chick Corea (piano genius), Stanley Clarke (one of the all time Bass GOATs) and Lenny White (amazing drummer) and a host of other HOF Jazz Greats depending on the album. RTF along with Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra basically created the genre. (yes Miles and Bitches Brew at the forefront). Romantic Warrior is a great starter for RTF.

I think he is deviating from the original when reading the music sheets. The song is (I think) from the Casino album which has been around for decades.
