They were all one of the best singers from different regions of India. They are very different from Bollywood singers because they sing "regional classical music" and take huge huge pride in it (as they should) and also, as you can clearly see here, each and every form of regional music has their own traditional instruments and different style of singing as well as different languages. This performance was beautiful in every manner!

omg so glad you found this!!! this is such an accurate representation of a sliver of Indian music. the reason I say sliver is cuz these are all songs that Amit Trivedi had composed himself that are from these different states. some other composers you absolutely must check out are Sachin Jigar (start with their rendition of Laadki from coke studio), ajay atul (you can pick up anything from the soundtracks of either sairat/dhadat or agneepath) and even arijit singh 's compositions although those are primarily in bengali. you absolutely must listen to more coke studio stuff from both india and pakistan tho! pasoori, chhaap tilak, rang and so much more! your reactions bring me so much joy! it's like seeing a friend discover new music!

The concert opens with a famous couplet written in Farsi by Uzbek Amir Khusrow, when he first visited Kashmir in autumn for the first time (sometime around the 13th Century CE). Actually, Amit is Directing and is using different artists from all over the country (who are just local artists and sing in their local language) and created this performance "SOUND OF NATION"... (Amit Trivedi is music director as well as Singer, he composed all these songs.). In the end of the performance, he said that every music composer has a dream and his dream was to use these beautiful voices and songs and unite them, and he got his chance on this platform. He's my favorite, he's just awesome.
