Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from the remaining members of the legendary Queen. Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrangement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition" (three years later they repeated their praise on TT in March 2023 with the words "absolutely killed it".) 8 years I have listened every day. Right from the first time I saw a beautiful little girl in a white dress, flowers in her hair, on my favourite series at the time Lillyhammer. In the scene she is singing in the background in the jazz club my favourite Bilie Holiday song. The effect on me was so dramatic I researched who she was. Only to find her Norways Got Talent run. Then her large outdoor concert with backing singers, singing WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKE . I was hooked. Only to spend the next years surprised, enthralled and addicted. I never could predict her. Then I started enjoying watch others experience what I have. No other solo artist can do that to me.

- The Barefoot Princess - (From her book, television and radio interviews, and podcasts made between 2014-2015. Includes excerpts from her diary made that day in 2012.) Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them. Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true, you have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day, 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.

- Who is Angelina Jordan - Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 6 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear. At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more. Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood. That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old. Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. Some attribute this to her refusal to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. ... the first time I heard/saw her sing she was 7 years old. She sang an audition a Capella I'm A Fool To Want You, the Billie Holiday classic. She confronted me with something super natural. There is 'something' beyond normal with this kid. I'm a tuff guy, more than 60, seen a lot and yet she reduces me to tears. What the heck"?

Thanks for reacting to this awesome performance by Angelina honoring the legend Freddie Mercury with her own rendition of this iconic song; IMO, no one has honored FM with so much emotion and respect better than Angelina, the Barefoot Angel. In addition being a musical prodigy, the Barefoot Angel is also a humanitarian. Every time Angelin appears barefoot in her public performances, she reminds the viewers about the poor children who need our help and action to make life a little better for them.

Two of my favorite performances are "Lovin' You" that she performed live at age 11 and at age 12 "Fly Me to the Moon" that she performed at Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration concert at there O2 Arena in London. She rehearsal video for that concert is terrific. She sings the arrangement that Jones did for Frank Sinatra and the Count Basie band. She sings it so much better than Sinatra, and I like Sinatra!!!!

She has also sung the title track to the film "Hating Game - with the song Mercy" She was also specially invited to sing in the O2 Arena in London for Quincy Jones's 85th birthday. She has also sung during the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She has started the concert for Norah Jones and sang in front of 40,000 in South Korea. She has sung on " Germany's Next Topmodel" specially invited by Heidi Klum. She has published a book at the age of 10, which made her Norway's youngest author. Long story short she is bare foot because when she was younger and on holidays I think the middle east, she befriended a young girl who had no shoes and gave her shoes to her, and has vowed to perform barefoot until all kids have shoes.

Regards, I think the next song you should listen to is “I Put a Spell On You”. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the pianist, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. In the band, she was called a boss.

Angelina Jordan from Norway is now 17, she has close to 200 covers along with some original songs readily available on KZbin & she has a huge, loyal fan base. But - in order to better understand her musical roots & early influencers, I highly recommend her audition on Norway's Got Talent singing the Billie Holiday classic Gloomy Sunday - at age 7. (Please select a video with English subtitles because while Angelina sings in English, the narrator & judges are speaking Norwegian.) Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
