Nick - you just made my heart SO happy. Anne is one of our Canadian treasures - with 50 years worth of amazing music to discover. This song is one of my top five favourites - EVER. I can still sing every word of it. Snowbird, Danny's Song (Kenny Loggins cover), If I Ever Fall In Love Again (duet with Kenny Rogers), and You Won't See Me are some of her most popular - and ALL worth a listen. Her duet with Kenny is AMAZING. Enjoy the ride. Cheers from Ontario, Canada! :)

Anne Murray had 54 charting singles on the Billboard Country charts, including 10 #1 hits in her career spanning over 20 years. This song reached #4 on the charts. This song didn't make it to #1 on the country chart, stalling at #4, but did make it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in July 1978. She was considered a cross-over artist as she had 28 songs appear on the Hot 100 pop chart as well.

It always boggles my mind when someone says they have never heard of an older generation artist. Someone recently told me they had never heard of Ms Judy Garland. Yet, older people tend to know many of the younger generation artists, especially those who have sold a ton of records. Anne Murray is one of those older generation singers who has sold a ton of records. I am from the USA and consider it a privilege to have been able to see her in concert many times. Murray decided to retire before her vocal abilities started to significantly decline. Many singers continue well past the time when they should retire due to declining vocal abilities. Murray is one of the greatest altos to pick up a mic! Thanks for showcasing this great artist, USA.

Anne always said she knew this would be a hit because the first time she sang it, she couldn't get thru it without breaking down. It was her signature song, a #1 Pop record and Grammy-winning hit in the fall of 1978. Anne, by the way, was the very first Canadian artist to earn a US Gold record, for her breakthru hit "Snowbird" in 1970, and the very first WOMAN and CANADIAN to win the Country Music Association's Album of the Year in 1984 for her album "A Little Good News".

Ah, Anne....Canada's gift to the music world. I remember on Casey Kasam's American Top 40, someone requesting this song as a long-distance dedication for someone close to them that had passed, so I tear up a little when I hear this one. Others to react to are her cover of The Monkees Daydream Believer, Snowbird, Could I Have This Dance, I Just Fall in Love Again, etc. I think of her as a contemporary of Karen Carpenter, both with warm rich vocals. She's well worth your time to react to.

Now react to her 1983 smash "A Little Good News", a song still relevant today, even though the specifics in the song are from 1983. You MUST do more of her, she was active for over 40 years, and she retired from recording and performing in 2010. So many people under the age of 30 are unaware of this fantastically gifted singer.

You mentioned being needed is such a blessing. That is so true. My husband is disabled with permanent vertigo, he was the strong guy, general contractor, hunter, fisherman, eagle scout, provider. Suddenly he couldn't get out of bed and I had to spoon-feed him. I was a caregiver when he was struck with this. That seems to be my calling. I am now retired and caring for both of us. The weight sometimes gets very heavy on my shoulders, then I remember the blessing. I cared for my sister who had dementia, was there till the end, then for two ladies with autism. , then retired and moved my mom in with us till she passed, have taken turns caring for my mother in law, a long with my husband. The weight is hard, but I am so blessed to be needed and to be there for others as they transition into the next life. I needed this too. ❤ Snowbird is easily my favorite. Such a beautiful soul and voice. Peace out man ✌️❤

In the 80’s my Dad had this album. It was so weird that he would actually buy an album in general. I decided to listen to it. So with huge headphones handy and playing it on my brother’s stereo (I was the youngest of 5) it struck me how good she was. That’s my Anne Murray story. LOL!!!!
