Great reaction - and yes this was all live, recorded at their 'Legend 1997' concert in December 2013. Su-metal was born in 1997, this was her 16th birthday party and it was an incredible concert ... especially when you consider it was still 3 months before they released their first album. RoadRunner has explained the meaning of this song, I will just say I was so happy it was on the set list when they played in London in 2020 so I could experience it in person.🤘 A word of warning if you like going to live concerts - BABYMETAL spoil you for any other concerts afterwards, nothing else quite compares.🦊🤘🔥 I will second every suggestion you have had for more BABYMETAL songs, do them all, they are all different so neither you or us will get bored.

My top 3 would be... 1. Megitsune (music video recommend, probably their best song of all time) 2. Road of Resistance live in Japan (probably their best live performance ever) 3. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live show showcasing the kami band behind the girls)

probably the only Babymetal song with 5 versions: - the "normal" one you reacted here - a Moa version for her 15th birthday - a Yui version for her 15th birthday - a, some people call it a dubsteb version, after the Ave Maria intro - and a Moa Version for her 20th birthday 🤘🦊🤘

I have been a fan since 2017, and I still can't help but smile through all of their performances. It's still so fresh and unique, and so well executed in all aspects. They are the epitome of live entertainment to me. All of their songs are worth a recommendation, a bigger factor to set them apart are copyright issues. For some reason, some videos like this one are relatively safe, while others (especially newer ones) will get blocked immediately. You can get around it by using effects etc., but not everyone is willing to do that. I would say it's worth it, though, because there are some real gems that are excluded otherwise. One video that has a mixed record in that regard that I'd like to recommend is the official music video for the song Megitsune. It's pretty typical BABYMETAL (if there is such a thing) with its mixture of styles and cultures. What I particularly like about it is that it has more of a Japanese edge compared to many others.

Another great reaction, thanks! "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "ヘドバンギャー! !" (Hedobangyā!!) is about a girl who attends to her first metal concert on the night of her 15th birthday and that causes a great impact on her. That is the age of the end of the compulsory school in Japan so young people have to make some relevant decisions at that point. So this is actually about coming on age and leaving the childhood behind with a hint of nostalgia. Not a biographical theme because this is a pretty early song and Su-metal performed it for the first time when she was only 14. Unlike that "Catch me if you can" compilation, this is a proper live performance at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, held on December 21st 2013, the day after Su-metal (the lead singer 16th birthday). Yui and Moa were both still 14 back then. And as you mentioned, the crowd interaction here is insane. Believe me, that crowd got that night everything they deserved... and more! 😁We will get there later, hehe... At this point, and continuing with their early stuff, here is a good next one: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014): kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c But if you want to know why the "notacult" thing... here: "BABYMETAL Death" (Legend 1997 with CC, without spoilers): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHaWZaCIpc5ph80 Until next time! 🤘🦊

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥 Thanks for hearing our suggestion. They were part of Sabaton's Europe Tour, and everyone were having a blast with them coming back to the stage in these live concerts and more is coming such the Babyklok Tour in the US along with Dethklok and another return to UK and Europe for a headline shows, also they already finished the Asian and Australian Tour and more is coming, but so far this beloved song by fans wasn't part of the setlist outside of Japan. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special and one night only, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The statue behind is SuMetal resemblance and is a tribute to Metallica's Lady Justice. This song got tributes to one of the greatest J-metal/visual key bands, like X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see so much here in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are hyping the crowd singing "Hedoban hedoban", the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father was a very famous in Japanese music scene. Next suggestion: - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 official, and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production. Or another epic anthem could be: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan (2015) official live. Thanks for sharing this suggestion and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥

Yeah definitely not a cult. Let's not mention that during this video while they were using the smoke machines a large portion of the audience were bowing down with their arms hahaha (a reference to the music video). On that note you should add the song "Babymetal Death" live at the concert called "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" to your list. It's a performance to save for later on once you're a bit more familiar with Babymetal but it's one you don't want to miss (and is in no way culty btw...). Im trying to intrigue you but it really is one better to wait on, maybe 5th or 6th song I'd say. Before then I'd recommend any or all of these, take your pick: "Megitsune" for a fan favourite "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonosphere for their first big event with a Western audience "Gimme Chocolate" for the viral song that put them on the radar "Road of Resistance" live in Japan for the most impressive performance and audience participation "Rondo of Nightmare" with Mischiefs of Metal Gods intro live at Budokan for a pretty technically complex song musically "Monochrome" to try a newer release (which comes as a two parter - the studio release and the stripped down acoustic First Take version) "Karate" is just a banger "Pa Pa Ya" for a metal party song "No Rain, No Rainbow" for a shift in gears to an actually emotional power ballad There is just so much waiting for you, and all different from the last. I could add more but I'll resist. Have fun!

This is where I missed Yui so much. Her face is tottaly adorable here. ❤ Headbanger is the first song that drag me into the fox hole. If you want more catchy song, go for PaPaYa next. And I encourage you to go for older song like line (iine). Lets see your reaction 😂, they really break the genre in that song (in the good way) Waiting for your next choice man 🕺

I like your ending line, "music is medicine", in Japanese it would be "ongaku wa kusuri desu". I learned that this is true after I heard Babymetal, finding music that resonates with you can no doubt have a positive impact on the body. My eyes were opened to a whole new world when I discovered them and that kick-started a genuine interest in Japanese culture. I now listen to many groups from Japan and most of them aren't even metal. 🤨 I'm also learning Japanese because I don't want to just look at things from the outside, I want to one day immersive myself and explore Japan from the inside.

Welcome to the Foxhole! A couple of my favorite songs are: Road of Resistance, Rondo of Nightmare, PA PA YA, Megitsune, Syncopation, Akatsuki and YAVA! But you can't go wrong with any of their songs. Since you've decided to continue your journey down the BABYMETAL foxhole, you'll find great songs, good songs and ones that aren't so good, you'll find triumph (Sonisphere 2014) and tragedy (the departure of Yuimetal in 2018 and the unfortunate death of Mikio Fujioka, guitarist of the BABYMETAL backing "Kami Band"), you'll find Black BABYMETAL (BBM), and you'll find that although BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal"), they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made metal FUN!. They have only a bit over sixty songs and you're sure to find most of them quite entertaining. I will be the first to agree with the One that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they have several music videos that are real works of art and definitely worth looking into (“Doki Doki Morning”, “Iine!”, “Megitsune”, “Karate”, and “BxMxC”. In my opinion, those are BABYMETAL’s best MV’s - so far!). Also, to really understand the "#notacult" reference, you need to watch "BABYMETAL Death", the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" version (it is included in the list provided below). You could even just take in the entire "Legend 1997" concert ( kzbin.info/aero/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q )! I've compiled what I consider to be BABYMETAL's top twenty songs/videos here on KZbin; it contains both live performances and the above mentioned music videos. I sincerely hope that you consider reacting to them all (except "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" - one down, nineteen to go) kzbin.info/aero/PLdhz2aj0pt4zPl0BZLevPUR9uHKQA27uj I recommend that you start at the top of the list and work your way down: it starts with the very first MV they did (2012) and moves forward to 2019. I should mention that I cannot guarantee that reacting to these videos won't be blocked but with some creative editing that shouldn't be a problem. BABYMETAL recently released their fourth album “The Other One”. I would strongly recommend that you react to their earlier work before delving into this last album: in my opinion, the contrast is striking. Finally, I suggest that you avoid compilation and fancam videos like the plague. Sorry about the wall! Enjoy your continuing trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

Welcome to the foxhole🦊 Nice Reaction! There are about 60 BM songs, but they are all unique and very different. You might even say that they are all different genres of music anymore. If I had to say something, I would say that BABYMETAL is a genre and the only one of its kind in the world. And even if there are only four albums, the enjoyment is endless, because the same song has different qualities at different shows! First I would suggest listening to the songs from the early years.(I am resisting the urge to recommend all of them, because the songs I hear at the time will be the ones I like best) ・Road of Resistance(Live in Japan) ・Ijime Dame Zettai(Live at Sonosphere 2014 UK) ・Megitsune(Official MV) ・KARATE(Official MV) ・KATATE(Download fes 2016) ・Rondo of Nightmare(Budokan Black Night) The studio recorded albums and music videos are very good, but I believe that the true form of BABYMETAL is the dance, the production, and most importantly, the audience together. I believe that BABYMETAL is the state that includes everything. There will be a US tour and an EU tour this year, so please join us and get a taste of the true BABYMETAL. From Japan🦊
