Great reaction. This was the opening song and intro on the album they released last year - this concert was their first in nearly 2 years after their 10th anniversary concerts in 2021 and then taking a hiatus, so this was their much anticipated return. Of course they used the epic opening track from the new album for this huge theatrical opening number in these concerts. They had divided the Makuhari Messe in half with the walkway. At either end of the walkway were two main stages - one with their thrones which were revealed after two huge Fox gates were opened. The other stage had the Kami Band (their instrumentalists - each one a world class musician). On the walkway there were actually two moving stages which moved from one end to the other of the walkway as well as rising and falling several feet. The girls spent most of the concert on the moving stages so they could get as near to as many of the fans as they possibly could. They only used this production for these two concerts ... their next concerts were on 1st and 2nd April at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama - and the production there was completely different but equally or even more spectacular. 'Metal Kingdom' gives you a good idea of their vocals and lead singer Su-metal's vocal prowess in particular - although this is the official video so they used the studio audio ... the live is even better. Keep the BABYMETAL coming, every song will be different, expect the unexpected - 'Megitsune' live at the PIA Arena would be another good one.

Awesome to see your recognition of some of the aspects that make this band so special! I am an old musician myself (59) and I use to play S. Florida clubs in metal bands thru the 80s and 90s, a metal-head from the start, I was a huge Judas Priest fan and shunned bands like INXS and Duran Duran as way to poppy for me (though I like them much more these days). If you had told me back then that the band I would come to call my all time favorite would be fronted by Japanese Idols I'd have fought you! But, they are, without a doubt, my favorite band ever. furthermore, I can say they have given me back my love of music which had been worn down by years of crazy band mates, record deals gone bad and carrying SVT cabs up and down stairs while half-lit or worse, and now I'm back to playing, writing and recording again after being "meh" about it all for many years. When I first went down the foxhole, as a song-writer and musician, I was stunned again and again by their entire catalog! My god, the sound, the scale, the production, the writing, the stage-craft, the charisma, the performance, the consistency, the concept.. Just, wow. The fanbase is known as "The ONE", its members are referred to individually as "Kitsune and Megitsune" ( male and female foxes). The hand symbol is a fox or "kitsune". The only acts I know of that go as large as BABYMETAL are Rammstein and, er, Rammstein. I hope you enjoy your time in the foxhole! Kitsune dao!

It is a special treat to hear people who actually understand what it takes to put a Babymetal production on. Babymetal are legendary for their live performances and over the years have created one epic stage production after another. FYI: in 2017 one of Babymetal's OG's left for health reasons. Hence in this video seeing just Su and Moa the remaining OG's. In 2023 the delightful Momo officially became the new permanent member and you would have seen her in the EC collab you watched. With your backgrounds you are about to enter a new realm of stage craft. You'll get a ton of suggestions. But I'll make mine anyways. In 2019 Babymetal performed the song Pa Pa Ya. There is the official music video. But I personally like the live pro shot better. You really feel the audience participation and excitement. Babymetal are a live band and this version really conveys that. The stage in this song will blow your mind. Its got everything. I actually saw this live performance at Makuhari Messe. In the middle of the venue, which is 112m north to south and 60m east to west, a runway of about 100m was built, and two movable stages with LED screens on the top and sides were placed on it. The stage is better visible when it is lifted up, as it does not cover the heads of the people in front of you. And they moved the stage from north to south for each song so that everyone in the audience could see it fairly, and they sang facing east for the first chorus and west for the second chorus, which was a very considerate live design. Tickets for this live performance were available in two types, 200 dollars and 150 dollars, and this production was made possible by selling 5.250,000 dollars over two days with a capacity of 15,000 people.

@Icipher3537 ай бұрын
This was filmed at Babymetal Returns in January 2023 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Makuhari Messe is a massive convention center complex with multiple exhibition halls that are like massive aircraft hangers. The concert took place inside two of the exhibition halls combined, with a crowd of around 25,000 for each of the two performances. This was their first live concert in almost two years after their hiatus, and I went to Japan specially to attend this concert because it was a special occasion. To say that the show they put on was spectacular feels like a massive understatement. I've never been to a concert with such epic staging and production. I've since been back to Japan three more times to see them live and they never disappoint. Su-metal (the lead vocalist) was chosen by Kobametal (Babymetal's creator and producer) as an 11 year old because he saw her powerful voice and unique stage presence and thought that she wouldn't be overpowered by a full metal band performing behind her, and he was right. She has a unique, powerful vocal ability that can cut right though all the noise and be as clear as a bell no matter what is going on. She's also an extremely consistent vocalist, who is able to accurately replicate her performances day in and day out almost flawlessly. The fans in the crowd are making the Fox Sign, which is the symbol of Kitsune-sama (The Fox God), who Babymetal serve as the champions of. According to Babymetal lore, the Fox God chose Babymetal to be his heroes in the war against the tyranny of the idols to save heavy metal. That's the official version anyway. The real explanation is that when Babymetal started, the girls were only 12 and 11 years old, and didn't really understand much about heavy metal, so when they were shown the metal horns hand gesture, they though it was a fox from shadowplay. Kobametal saw that and thought it was an interesting idea, and told them to keep doing it. He then started to create a whole storyline around this mythical Fox God and weave foxes throughout Babymetal's songs, media, and art. Kitsune (foxes) are very important creatures in Japanese folklore and are considered to be highly auspicious creatures of luck and prosperity, so they are an outward expression of Japanese culture woven though everything that Babymetal does. The octagonal stage platform that they were on towards the end was actually on a track that ran down the center of the arena. Babymetal spent most of the performance on the platform and it moved up and down the arena with them on it so that all parts of the audience could see them up close at different times in the show. My suggestion for what to watch next: Megitsune Live at PIA Arena 2023 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5XFooRjocl5lbc

There are live musicians backing them, though you didn't see much of them (a few seconds if you were looking), called the Kami Band. Each member is a "God (Kami) of Music" summoned by The Fox God. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BabyMetal. So if you see a group of musicians in other BabyMetal videos that is who they are. Ohmura Takayoshi - God of Guitar, has connections to Gacharic Spin an all female JRock group that can go surprisingly heavy (he has known one of the members since about 2005, he has written 2 songs for them). Gacharic Spin and the Kami Band and other guests performed on stage together at his birthday show (I guess it is common for Japanese musicians put on a small show for their birthday) in 2017. One of the other Kami Band members, Fujioka Mikio - Ko-Gami, tragically died a few days after that show making it his last show. 藤岡 幹大 ラストステージ 〜Gacharic Spin 主催「ハピバ!Ohmura」より〜 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZi3mWmtj8-nfac (note this is not the current line-up of Gacharic Spin, but the core members are the same).

Over the top mega productions are Babymetals bread and butter. That stage moves up and down that runway as well and there is also another smaller moving stage where a dark mirror version of Babymetal comes out and the two groups do a song together facing each other on different stages. It's a lot to explain but all you need to know is that every one of their huge concerts (which there are many). Have elaborate stage setups and also tell chapters of an ongoing mythic story of the band. Have fun going down the foxhole.

I think what KobaMetal (Producer) found interesting in this fusion in the technical sense is the fact that the girls' voices never get drowned out by the heavy instrumentation. It's like they're singing in a very different space as the Kami Band are (musicians they perform with for their live shows). So whether they have the surprising Pop-ish songs or more straightforward metal songs, it always works. My first time discovering Babymetal years ago, it made me smile and laugh with how surreal the combination is. Now I genuinely love their songs and enjoy watching the live performances.

One important note since you guys are audio engineers: All their videos titled “Official” are either MVs or live video with studio audio on top. Only “Official Live” will have live audio to go with the live video. This performance sounds WAAAAY better with live vocals, live band, and audience sounds from their concert BluRay. Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch production. Many others found Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it just looks insane. The ten apostles are holding crossiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol "OO"♾️ and is the title of this album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion anime series, if you know MoaMetal you know you gotta be careful with her. 🔱 Here's some official info about this song: METAL KINGDOM (THRONE) "It is a powerful anthem ushering in the beginning of a new era while also representing the power and courage to step forward into uncharted territory. The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning." Ending January at Makuhari Messe, they held two big live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they met up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production. SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. Those freaking cinematic drone shots make you feel like you're in a movie. There's also a dance choreo version performed first outside of Japan during the World Tour 2023 and some fans witnessed this even more gorgeous performance, later they did it in their own country at an exclusive show only for fans. This is a live proshot version but with studio album sound, we already got a live sound version with the WOWOW broadcast and the released DVD/BD version of BM Begins - The Other One live at PIA Arena MM, now with the three girls together on stage. We had so many big news and announcements back then, a new official member was announced to come next live shows in April 1st (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama, if you don't know MomoMetal was the one blessed by the Fox God as a new official member. Also they performed with a new BM subunit coming from another world of this metalverse, they got new songs exclusive for them as well live shows and festivals following BM path. Next suggestion: - METALI!! or メタり!!feat. Tom Morello official MV. Thanks for sharing this and don't forget to put your kitsune up!🦊🤘👑

Others had mentioned the fact Momo was abscent from this video due to the fact at the time she was not an offical memebr of Babymetal, she was listed as an Avenger and just filled Yuo's slot for the dance part. On april 1, 2023 it was announced Momo was now officially MomoMetal of Babymetal. The next night they did this song and instead of just a single throne for Su, they had three. Su, Moa and Momo.

The Fox handsign - it's variation of the regular "horns" - You put your two middle fingers together with your thumb, to form the "face" of the fox - and your index and pinky fingers form the "ears". Foxes have a special place in Japanese mythology, and it's something that Babymetal has adopted pretty early (one of their early songs is called "Megitsune" and is about "fox maidens"). It's also just a cute variation of a metal trope, and so typical of Babymetal. They do things their own way!

Legend 1997, Budokan, Tokyo Dome, Wembley to name a few are truly epic concerts that have individual production for each performed song - if you keep going with them and love their music it could be fun to do a concert or two. Their large shows are unequaled.

BABYMETAL's shows in Japan are often big productions as seen here. But they don't tour in Japan, they do some big arena shows like this and some festivals. They tour the rest of the world, but it's smaller venues and some big festivals around the world. The shows you see in the US aren't huge productions like this. It's the 3 ladies and the Kami band on a stage, usually with a big screen behind them. I have seen BABYMETAL quite a few times in the US, so I went to Japan to see them a few months ago for a couple of arena shows, which was pretty awesome.

This Is One of the most serious Songs by BabyMetal. They also have other party songs, like Papaya!

A lot of the costs for these shows are not as much as you would think, they are signed to Amuse a huge talent/production company so much of it is done in-house, which is probably why they don't do big shows like this outside of Japan because if they couldn't use their own people the costs would go way up. Not to say they don't put a huge effort into these shows, because obviously they do. I especially like how they design their stages to give the best viewing possible to everyone in the audience not just the ones who paid for VIP tickets

With Babymetal the style can change massively from song to song. This is nothing like BMC or Shanti Shanti Shanti or Papaya or Megitsune. But it's all fantastic. You'll just have to listen to more!

Babymetal has been known to go, as we say, "Full Pink Floyd" on the production.

Since you guys are all about the production, i recommend you react to ‘in the name of’, the show opener for legend s(which was a show celebrating su-metal’s 20th bday back in 2017). They also used that song to open for their legend metal galaxy day 2 show back in 2019 and forr their 10th year anniversary shows in budokan back in 2021, but for me the 2017 one was the best version. Cheers!😊❤

A couple other recommendations for Babymetal are one of their oldest songs 'Megitsune'. They were just starting out when they dropped and they are YOUNG, but its also one of their songs thats more metal than anything else. Another is 'BxMxC', got a great mix between metal and *insert clubbing type of song here* while letting Suzuka do a bit of rapping, so its pretty fun. This one came out not too long after Yui left the group and before they got a replacement. Oh, also, 'Headbanger'. Another old one, but a fun one regardless. Id say its probably better to watch one of the live shows for this one though.

The hand sign is indeed a fox. I don't have a link, but if you get the chance, you should check out the intro song "In the Name of" from the "Legend S" show. I have yet to see a more epic performance in therms of production.

Well, this proves if it is about using frer resources Koba kmows his business. This was a huge opening and he knew heneeded his thrones a second time. While they had two crawlers in this show they didn't need their crawlers in the foreseeable fuzure.
